Red-Zone Offense

I have a feeling it's part of Cam's accuracy issues and not having a big receiver to go up and get a jump ball. Olsen really isn't that physical.

Redzone problems + not finishing big play has limited this offense a lot. They aren't getting long scores like they did last year.

It's pretty frustrating to drive all the way down the field and can't score points

The problem still persists, the main focus at practice should be scoring in the red-zone

The huge failing of this team is the inability to convert on 3rd and medium distance...it has great relevance in the Red Zone, obviously. There is way too much tendency to throw the ball deep when underneath recievers are available and open. There is also way too much tendency to drill the ball into the ground or sail it over the receivers head on short and intermediate routes. Chud and Rivera get part of the blame for instilling the read option bologna...but there are other culprits as well...

Yep.

Cam still has a big problem with short accuracy. He's much more accurate throwing the ball medium and long. His lack of short accuracy really shows up inside the redzone. It needs to be a major focus of his going forward.

Well, we also haven't been running overall when we get close.....so we have played to our weakness

Troof.

It seems like we haven't called a running play inside the 5 all year unless its a Cam keeper. 1st and goal on the 3 and 3 straight incompletions all while we have 2 good running backs and a capable fullback.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
