Direction I'd like to see this team go...

With a new GM on the horizon...

I'd love to see us trade down to a team willing to give up picks for a QB...and with those picks I'd love to see us draft a CB with our first pick...FS with our second...and SS with our third (hopefully we find a way back into the 3rd round)....so yes 3 picks...3 DBs......I want to go Seattle style with our secondary.

And after we make some cuts, restructuring(...lol) we bring in some proven, quality OLine help.

I honesty would hold off on DLine for now. With Alexander playing well and the addition of Dwan, I think that buys us some time to wait on DLine help

Upgrade the secondary in a major way...find some OLine help...move forward with a new staff...

i like this plan a lot.

i would try and get some more DT help in FA...but focusing on the secondary like that is something i like.

although i would probably try and get an experienced SS instead of drafting one. thats just a an awful lot of inexperience in the secondary going that route.

Yeah sure... It's a great plan if you don't want to draft someone to help protect your franchise QB or a WR to help spread the field. Other than that, it's a great plan! *sarcasm off*

While I'd love to have a secondary like that in Seattle, it may be more prudent to go for a bit more balance. Add a playmaker somewhere in the secondary (either at corner or either safety position), and use another high pick on a wide out, should a good one be available at our spot. We're going to need a RG, but that doesn't need to be a high pick.

Unless Gettis really shows us something late this year, I'm just not comfortable with our WR situation going forward. We desperately need a good red zone target.

I just feel one of the biggest problems with this team is the lack of athleticism on defense. We lack speed rushers and speed and physicality in the secondary.

I think our front 7 can be decent as of now. I'd like to see some big time changes in the secondary. Tall, fast guys who are mean.

And I think our offense will balance out as we shift back to a more pro style offense...

So given the style of play in the NFL...a good secondary is a must

Dwan Edwards is 31, Ron is 33. If they keep their level of play up, that's great but it who's coming after them?

Might be a passing league but the game is won in the trenches. Getting a young DT with the rookie pay scale would be a steal for years.

If they trade out the range for a dominant DT prospect, I'd rather have a FS or WR. I don't know if there are any great safety prospects. Unless the safety has Sean Taylor or Eric Berry-like ability, I'm not as interested in the top ten. I'd go BPA between DT and WR in the top ten.

I'd like to know who our GM will be, who he'll hire as HC and then who they bring in to round out the staff.

Then, I need to see who we're going to cut or trade.

Then, we'll know what needs we have and picks we can address then with.

Originally I would have agreed with you, but right now none of us has a clue as to what's next, not no mention what will happen 6 months from now.

Well in the mean time we can discuss these issues...

I agree it will be interesting to see who our GM will be. Rivera has to go, but what if by some crazy happening he stays?

This team is so jacked up it will take some real work just to get us back to average, much less winning.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
