The real reason why the media hates Cam.

winning cures everything...esp. winning rings.

cam has a strong personality and hasn't been pandering to the media.

the only thing the media loves more than slobbering all over some big winning player is tearing down someone that is struggling. they love kicking a dog while it's down.

once cam starts winning the media will be drooling all over him again. they are among the most fickle bitches on the planet.

White privelege exists at NFL QB. Banning KT or acting like hes the only one who sees it is laughable. Stop giving guys passes and maybe you wont hear about it more. Cam will never be able to yell at lineman or throw teammates under the bus like Peyton or Brady.

So you are saying that only at the qb position a black man cannot exhibit the leadership skills to be successful because of some white privileged edict?. I know at defense guys like Ray Lewis are great leaders .In a country where we have crossed racial boundaries as high as the President of the US,,,,,where we have black GMs and black coaches we still have some kind of "White privilege" that exists somewhere in the NFL and does not allow for a black qb to yell at linemen like Brady can.

I did not know this If this is truly the case then why do owners draft and trade for black qbs knowing this white privilege exists or could it be you are a complete moron?

Its not a race thing.

Brady gets away with it because of the rings on his finger. Not because the color of his skin.

Young QB's are under the microscope. Ryan Leaf and Derek Anderson were both blasted by the media for their behavior, warranted or not.

How a new QB deals with the league is a story the media likes to follow. They like it even more if they can put a negative spin on it and get more article views.

Pretty much. Win a Super Bowl and you can have baby seal for lunch every day. The media will suggest you write a diet book.

Until you prove yourself a consistent winner, you're going to face scrutiny. What a lot of our fan base fails to understand is that setting rookie records doesn't amount to proving it. Last year's rookies - even the record setting ones - are old news. This year there are new rookies to talk about.

Continuing to look back at last year as if it means something is about like Al Bundy continually bragging about the four touchdowns he scored in high school. Unless there's something more built on that foundation, then that phenomenal season will become a footnote. People will look back and say "Well, that was nice. Shame he never did anything else. He looked so promising."

That's just reality.

Cam needs to focus on his job and being a better team member.

i think he has been working on that and avoiding the media when he can. that's part of the reason the media doesn't like him, he's not kissing their asses/making himself accessible.

he's been all about work and trying to improve.

Probably so, just not in this discussion. The media is not out and after cam because of his skin color. Any reasonable person can see that.

Cam has as many rings as Matt Ryan. And if Cam screamed "Get the fug off my field" at an opponent, you're just being a silly goose if you deny how the media would react to that.

No, they're not 'out to get' Cam because he's black. Racism in our society isn't always as simple as "Oh, a black, grr, I'm going to treat you bad." But they treat him differently, whether intentional or not. In some ways he may have even been shielded from criticism because he's black. And in a lot of ways, he's been treated worse because of it.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
