Josh Thomas...

The cost to extend Gamble is really the relevant question.I think he counts close to 9 million against our cap in 2013.I am not sure how to restructure his contract to make everyone happy.

My hope is we have hit two home runs with the Josh twins.Thomas will have plenty of reps the remainder of the year and I am pulling for him.

If you restructure Gamble you can lower his salary. Which would help the cap. If he is not willing to do so, there are options. IMO, extend him, lower his cap hit, and keep him a couple more years. Gamble with the Josh twins would help us until we can reload in a couple of years.

You really need 3 quality CBs. Which means if Gamble can restructure, we are better.

Josh Thomas is doing great. Hope he stays next year.

You're just saying that because he is your adopted Panther. jk

He has to keep proving he belongs. It really is just that easy. He has earned his spot. Now he has to keep it. But, at the moment he has played very well. This week is a big test. Hope he passes with flying colors. Mainly because I really like the kid for some reason.

You still need 3 good CBs to be ahead of the curve. Which gives us three options. One. draft, which is a tough way to go. Two. FA, which we may or may not do depending on our new GMs blueprints. Or Three. Restrutcture Gamble. I believe that is the only way he is on the team.

If we get lucky and keep Gamble, we are free to address other needs. If we lose Gamble, we will have to try and replace him. I am behind keeping him if possible. It makes us much better and fills a huge need.

Chuck, I'm starting to think you have a personal vendetta against our best CB.

I have always liked Gamble since the man was drafted.

I have nothing against him and this is the first time I have said anything about him.

What in the past I have bashed him on for you to "assumed" that Im attacking Gamble?

If you're the new GM, you have to explore all possibility. And one of them is trading or cutting an aging vet CB for cap space, even though he played well last season and this season. Secondary has looked really solid there since Gamble went on IR, and I really believe that Norman can be a really good no.2 cb or may even become our no.1 in the near future. CB is a spot that we can get younger at.

So I guess I still have a vendetta against him from your assumption?

Chuck, I'm starting to think you have a personal vendetta against our best CB.

Which is why I am hoping we can keep him. The Josh boys just may give us a solid 1-2 punch sort of. I still believe Gamble can help these two for a couple more years. When the torch is ready to be passed, then you move on.

IMO, these kids still need a vet to show them the way. Gamble, at the right price, can do that. The guy never shuts up, so I am sure he is talking up the kids.

    • I don't really get the Cam parallels. Cam was a monster and even with the refs not giving him his due he still ate. Where it finally had an impact was when they let defenses headhunt him. There are probably some refs that don't like LaMelo for reasons people can determine on their own. But I think most of the noncalls are due to us being a small market team and the league and the refs just giving zero fưcks if we continue to exist. At the end of the day it's up to LaMelo to rise above it all. Nobody is out there trying to take his head off. He needs to add some bulk in the offseason assert himself and get physical in the paint and take any fouls that might come along the way and gradually you will see the tide turn. But nothing is going to change for the better for him or the team if he just continues to limit himself to acrobatic threes from halfcourt. That's just the reality of the situation.
    • Terrence Brown Jr. Scored 19.9 and 3.8 apg for Utah. He had a visit today, Juke Harris had one yesterday. Word is Knox is following Martin to UNC.  Avdalas committed today Jarin committed to returning  Young committed to returning  Adams committed to enrolling  Last I heard Mingo is still committed  So right now the roster is as far as I know.  Mingo, Adams, Avdalas, Young, Knox, Matlekovic, and Stevenson.    Veesar and Juke both have significant offers from UNC.
