Who is your favorite Panther LBer?

In another thread, the topic strayed to a discussion of our current crop of linebackers, and it got me thinking about how many truly good ones we've had over the years. Guys like Kevin Greene, Beason, Davis, and now Kuechly. There are a whole lot of others that could get a nod too. So just fro grins, tell us who your favorite is from among all the stellar ones that have worn the Panthers colors over the years since 1995, and give a brief reason why.

For me, it's still Kevin Greene, because he had a pure nastiness to his game that I've always loved. But I have to admit, Thomas Davis is right up there too, just because of his tenacity, smarts, hard hits, and leadership.

And yes, I think Kuechly is going to be a monster that might be the best we've ever had one day.

I like the rookie Kuechly. He's given us a much needed spark in run stopping. I also think Thomas Davis has been an unsung hero this year.

People do tend to forget about Davis.

I'd add that Anderson is a solid LB and would start on most NFL teams.

Davis solely on his tenacity and coming back from 3 ACLs and playin at the level he is... My heart jumped when I saw him still on the ground after hoppin over the pile yesterday... "What a shitass way for a 4th.." is the thought that went through my head....

Greene takes a close 2nd, Keuchly will prol'ly take it after a few more games.... Too many good choices...

Pie above for Witherspoon, forgot about him, loved that guy in a Panther uni... Fields too was no joke...

    • As the demand for apartments grows parking is becoming limited and it’s sad. I use to tailgate but I just park at uncc deck now and train in and head to rhino market. My tailgate grill hates me.
    • It simply depends on perspective. CMC, when healthy and on the field, has a higher YPC and YPR than LT. Yes, he's been injury prone, but this is simply a "all quarter-century team." There are certainly different stats and different lists. If this were a list or about a team simply based on longevity, then of course LT wins that every time, but some lists are more subjective and nuanced depending upon what they are, and it's not necessarily a reflection upon a person's ability to analyze sports.
    • From my what I have seen the overwhelming majority of people who are considering the notion a possibility don't really want to see it happen but are considering so for a number of reasons. Most importantly availability. Secondly even when he plays the last few seasons he has been red hot or ice cold. Then there is the subject of his defense which to say the least leaves a lot to be desired. Then there is the image of Ball inactive laughing it up on the sideline (while our team was getting the doors blown off) with previous busts who are now relegated to hanging on by a thread in the g league. I think we should be able to recognize with the team going out of their way to put a very strong emphasis on culture and leadership with the conclusion of this years draft that they expect LaMelo to lead the way this upcoming season and that begins with making significant strides and trending in a positive direction in the aforementioned aspects above. It just has to happen.
