I'm sorry, I just don't think coming back from nerve damage in the shoulder is nearly as significant as 3 torn ACLs in a row. I'm not arguing that I think TD *will* win, obviously the "more popular player in a marquee position" is the deciding factor, but that doesn't make it right. That shouldn't be a factor.

If a long snapper came back from being paralyzed below the waist, had a miraculous full recovery, and Tom Brady came back from missing a year due to a yeast infection, I'm sure Brady would win it. Doesn't mean he should.

Sorry I have to disagree. Yes Manning is having one hell of a season after his neck injury. But to come back after three ACL tears on the same knee, thats just unheard of and has never happened. Let alone after 2 ACL tears.

Manning's comeback is as significant as Davis', IMO and he's a more popular player in a marquee position.

TD deserves it, but so does Manning.

Remember now, Manning had votes for MVP last year also when he didn't even play a snap. No way anyone is going to beat Manning.

You think any smart person would know that. But in sports, it's all about the credential. Manning was in consideration as a MVP last year while sitting on his @ss.

Thomas Davis really should win because what he has done is unprecedented. Never been done before. Might not happen again for a long long time.

With Manning you're not talking about nerve damage in his shoulder, we're talking about his neck. Peripheral nerves are a part of that, but you're talking about a rather vulnerable area of the central nervous system which could very easily cause catastrophic damage. The cervical spine is important as anything not named heart or brain.

A 38 year old after neck injuries has no business playing another snap and Peyton is proving everybody wrong.

Lol...Manning doesnt have just a sore neck. He has had an opeartion called a spinal fusion. Ive had the same operation on my lower back, and the fact that Manning is even playing at all, much less playing great, is absolutely incredible to me. I cant even get out of bed most days without significant pain 3 years after my surgery.

Peyton himself said he called Dallas Clark to workout with him on some high school field in private bc he needed to throw to someone he could trust, primarily because he was throwing it into the dirt as a duck about 10 yards in front of him with almost no pop.

It was nerve damage in his neck and right arm. The human body can overcome a lot. Not saying the media didn't make it a big deal, but I am decently sure for 90% of people it'd have been career ending at 38.

You act like anybody could shred a knee 3 times & return as good as ever. Thomas isn't a spring chicken himself, & plays one of the most physical positions in sports.

Lol at the Birds being undefeated and only 2 of the 16 people are picking them to come out of the NFC. I don't care if they go 16-0 I don't think their best is good enough to make it to the superbowl either.

Amen, I've already had 3 back surgeries with the last being a complete thorasic fusion, 2 rods and 24 nifty, titanium screws for me! But you're right, I'm a year and a half removed from my last procedure and refilled a Percocet rx today.
