My Sunday schedule just got a bit more flexible...

Can't keep me away from gameday, don't no why I watch now, but its addicting to me for some strange reason.

It can get into your blood for sure. I always get excited come gameday. I love the game, and rooting for the home team just makes it better.

It is great to be able to give 3 hours a week to support my team. Get some relief from the wife. And just enjoy watching the home team play football,

I have no problem with fans derbing on the way things transpire. It is the ones that say they are done, could care less, or just plain want to quit watching. They ain't foolin' anyone. They are still gonna watch. Still gonna bitch. And probably still get upset when they cannot convince others to follow.

You can't always get what you want. But try telling that to a disgruntled Panther fan.

can the panthers at least make it harder for me and others to go out of town during wkds they play in charlotte? even my kids are onto how bad the panthers are.

im packing the 4runner to head to the coast and my youngest goes, dad, they aren't going to win this wkd are they? i go why? she goes because you have not tried to talk mommy out of letting you stay home. *gulp*

Having a life and a family can make watching a lot more difficult. Gotta give props to fans that can squeeze the game into the schedule. My brother in law DVRs the games and still rarely gets to watch it. Of course he has 2 girls and a wife that hates sports. So in a way, he chose his own fate. But I can empathise for him, and any father for that matter.

wouldn't it be easier for PSL owners to criticize such a shitty product due to their financial backing?

Some of us realize that being a fan and supporting our team doesn't we are guaranteed success on the field. It's a chance we take, because we're fans. If we get to the point where the enjoyment of being a fan is outweighed by the pain of losing and everything else, then we bail. Won't happen with me, but I know it has and will with others.

Hey, I grew up being a Gamecocks fan. Do you think I was there all these years (all my 57 years) because we were winners?

My friend recently recounted a story about my dad, the biggest Carolina fan there ever was. My friend was very upset over the Gamecocks' loss and was showing it at the after-game tailgate. Dad took my friend aside and said, "I've been coming to Carolina games since 1964. If I had been coming only to see us win, I would have stopped coming in 1965. Here ... have a drink."

My friend says that's when it solidified for him that being a fan is more than being a fan when the team is up.

I think we all can agree anyone who dedicates the posts and time on an internet forum understands fandom and doesn't need educated on something as simple as success isn't guaranteed.. I mean, we all know that. It's the most fundamental aspect of being a fan..

College football in this situation is a completely different animal if someone is supporting their alumni.. or maybe they didn't go to that school, but college football isn't the same type of business when academics prevail (or so they say) over wins and losses.

NFL is strictly business...

with that said, there is no sensationalizing 3 winning season in what is now 18 years? At some point, there comes a time when ownership needs to understand that the fans will hold them to a higher standard after such mediocrity.. or else I truly feel you and I are doing a disservice to ourselves as fans...

as has been mentioned many times in this thread, no one once has said they are jumping ship or burning all of their team paraphernalia..

This is 2012 and the NFL is making more money than ever. There is no room for boasting fandom because one person is willing to grin, bear and take it because they are cool with drinking away their sorrows.

Everyone and their brother/sister/mother understands success isn't guaranteed. That isn't some new revelation coming down to free us all of our frustration. The masses can be heard, have been heard, and will only get louder if this carries on into the future..

That, to me, is as important to uphold as a true fan.. Unless you do not care about the team's success, then none of this matters, and people can carry on spending hundreds to 10's of thousands of dollars on a poor quality investment..

I most definitely do care about the team's success.

I'm curious as to what ya expected to see.

Fox is a good coach.

He has good coaches beneath him.

The denver defense practiced against The Golden Calf of Bristol all last season. Great advantage when facing any mobile qb.

Denver is arguably one of the best teams in the league. Yet we had fans expecting us to go toe to toe with them?

Yeah, I can see why you need to be doing other things on Sundays.

I'm surprised panthers55 is still on the forum.

I figured he would have committed suicide when Fox was finally let go.

Panthers55 and Cyberjag have lost all credibility forever, man they had some creepy love for Jake/Fox.

Goes to show you that apparently you have no idea what I think or believe. Anyone who would commit suicide or even get too upset about a football game really has their priorities screwed up. Plus if you are a fan of the Panthers and not a fan of a particular player then you know that players and coaches will come and go. I have been a Panthers fan long before Fox or Jake were here and will be no matter who comes or goes as long as they stay in Charlotte.

As for credibility, that is in the eyes of the beholder, I don't claim any expertise or credibility other than being a fan and student of the game and team. I listen to the experts and formulate my opinions as I would think everyone should.

I didn't go to the game last Sunday because I was at my son's soccer tournament in Hickory both days. They won second place and did great. I will be at plenty more Panther games like this Sunday, but my son will never be thirteen again or play in the soccer tournament with this team at this time again. But I would have gone to the Panthers game if they had exited the tournament early. I have no problem with folks doing other things with their Sunday as we all choose what we do on our time off. I think supporting my son at a soccer tournament is more important that going to a Panthers game even if they had been undefeated. I will also go to as many games as I can and bring family when I can or when they are interested.

This whole you are not a fan if you don't go to the game or decide to boycott is really over the top. Do what you want as life is too short to feel compelled to not enjoy yourself as much as possible. If you aren't enjoying the Panthers, then don't go. I enjoy football even if we lose. Obviously, I enjoy it more when we win. But after not being able to attend professional football as a child for various reasons, I enjoy the opportunity to see a professional team play within 60 miles of my home, good or bad. I know that come March I will be lamenting that football is over and I have to wait months to see a game. Well here is your chance to see games at a cheap price or in my case overpay for PSLs given the product on the field. But that is the chance you take when you buy them.....

We are all fans of different varieties.

I am going to enjoy the Tampa game this weekend win or lose. But I surely hope for a victory and the beginning of a win streak. Likely?? Who knows, didn't we start off 1-7 in 2004 and finish up 7-9. Stranger things have happened...................

What a bunch of fairweather fans in here. Every game except 2 have at least been close and exciting this year and after one bad loss everyone is saying they aren't watching the games anymore?

Maybe that's what the forum needs, now if only everyone who stops watching will also stop posting we will be set.

And for what its worth...

People are not saying they are not going to watch anymore... Just that We are not planning our Sundays around it. I have a DVR and Ill still watch, just when it fits in around the other things.
