Rubi's Issues and Recommendations

This is what I see gentlemen...

1-Disconnect

Scheme, Play calling, Personnel. Not sure what Chud thinks we have here. We roll out this vertical, shotgun, zone read option offense. But the thing is we dont have the personnel for that. For one Deangleo is not a spread RB like Stewart. We dont have speed on the outside with our WR's. And asking Olsen to block a Von Miller is comical. What happened last year was a heavy 2 TE set/traditional set where we could do a number of things. This year we have 3 RB's (80 mil $$$ cheddar cheese) who we don't utilize. Its like Hurney wanted the team to do one thing...but Chud has his own ideas....where is the collaboration/communication here? Why is our front office and coaching staff on 2 different pages? Tolbert is our FB yet he is never on the field to lead block...I mean I just dont get what we are trying to achieve on offense...we have player types for one type of offense...yet the play calling is geared towards an offense that simply is not present.

This one is easy...look at the roster and figure out what type of team you have. Its not that hard. Its not rocket surgery. Its a run first team. There's the hint Chud/Rivera

2-Cam

Asking him to be the entire offense has been a massive failure. He has not developed the necessary skills IMO. Asking him to pass out of shotgun every play...zone read...where is the pocket development? The fact that he cant audible is beyond me. Take a look around. The best Qb's are able to check, uncheck, and re-direct the play call. Cam is unable to do this.

I would say its time to take the game out of Cam's hands. Place it on the backfield. And its also time to have Cam develop his pocket game and accuracy. Enough of this shotgun deep play passing game. Time to have him learn how to throw in the windows of the zone. 5-10 yd west coast type passing attack. Sorry the zone read shotgun BS is a fail. Time to attack the middle of the field

3- Roster

A main problem. Lack of depth. Talent. Toughness...Example A- Armanti Edwards. Why is this guy on the field when Gettis is healthy? Ive said before that Gettis probably wouldnt make an impact or play much when he is ready to return...but why is he not on the field and why is Armanti > Gettis in Rivera's mind? Gettis is 6'3 220 lbs. Armanti is 5'11 180...and a thin 180....we get beat up by teams because they have better athletes..plain and simple....but we choose to have the armanti's on the field. It was also said by Phil Simms that Rivera claims Munnerlyn is the best slot corner he has ever seen....i couldnt believe my ears...

GM will fix this. The armanti's and captain's on this team will be gone. Thank god

Response to 2

I would like to know what QB in NFL history was ready to be a team's entire offense and had developed the needed skills after only a 16 game rookie season......

Not sure if being sarcastic or not...

I'm saying cam isn't close to having the QB ability to have the whole offense leaning on his success or failure as a passer

It was sarcastic.....just saying no QB is ready to be THE offense after a rookie season. How talented they are and can be really is irrelevant. No young QB should be in the spot Cam is.....unless they have no talent. We however have a 9 billion dollar backfield.

    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
