tomorrow as he currently sits at 999 yards year to date.

Person did a write up on it earlier with quotes from Steve about his hall of fame possibilities.

Right now he is currently 26th all time in yards and currently remains 152 yards shy of Muhsin Muhammed who is 23rd all timed. He's also 1 TD shy of Moose's 62 career TD's.

Right now he has 11,277 career receiving yards and is 2500 yards away from the current top 10. He will need more than that to stay there long.

Reggie Wayne is the only active receiver who has more yards with 12,928 but he also has 30 more career starts.

Andre Johnson(10865) and Larry Fitzgerald(10267) are the only other active receivers that can can catch him within the next couple years.

Heres the complete list...

I follow the Panthers religiously and to me Smitty is the Heart and Soul.

I'm glad you see that. I live out of market, and all the non-panther fans I know love and respect Smitty as a GOAT. Then I log onto the huddle, and our "it is what it is" mentality seems to have festered to our recognition of 89's significance to this league.

Smith is number 1 All Time Panther in my book and it will take a lot for that to change.

Just imagine if he had consistent QB play...

And just like Tony Gwynn became "Mr. Padre", Smitty will become "Mr. Panther" and will HoF that ish like nobodie's business.

    • Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
    • I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
    • Haha.  I remember my first Hornets season.
