How do any of you here know whether he would be a good choice or not?!? Leave it to the guys whos job it is to decide these things.....christ. You never know, Beane may lead us to the promised land.

We have been doing that since 95.

How has it worked out there champ?

Beane: Last week I was making sure all the players got their per diem checks for the San Diego trip, now I'm figuring out our multiyear draft and FA strategy to compliment our core players, playing capology to fix the mess we're in, and implementing a coaching search. Thank God I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I should know...I booked the reservations.

If this happens (unlikely) I'm going to cry.

Hey, if your team wins 13 games in 3 seasons, is eliminated from playoff contention by week 8, and has serious cap issues, why would you not stick with the guys who got you there?

fug it, lets bring back hurney and sign Rivera to a 5 year extension while we are at it.

Or maybe JR could just take a huge dump at midfield before the next game to let the fans know what he thinks about them

And if the organization is stupid enough to to go against Accorsi in favor of a dumbass move like this, the fan exodus will be massive.

A fan base is going to quit on the Panthers based on who JR hires as GM? I think you have lost touch with reality. The average Panthers fan probably didn't even know Hurney was the GM or what he even looked like.

I'm pretty damn sure most of the PSL owners know who's who in our front office.

A fan base is going to quit (and has been quitting) on a team that is pretty much a running joke year in and year out. Four winning seasons in eighteen years. Four. Since 1995. It's not that half the fan base will literally say "omfg we chose Beane?! BEANE?!". What they'll do is notice that we're a poo team next year yet again and stop caring even more than they already do. And Beane, the guy who was an underling to the other guy we just ran out of town because of the complete fuging mess he made of things, gives very little hope that we'd change a system and situation that has completely and utterly failed.

JR did say they wanted to do things their way. If this happens I'm selling all my tickets to opposing fans next year. Something I swore I'd never do.

it's a good sign that we'd be in for more of the same that that all the changes made have been nothing more than window dressing. it's a shout to the world that everything is fine here, even though it obviously isn't.

    • Over previous years? Sure is 😆
    • An odd little vibe I've noticed here of late: some folks are "all or nothing" to an absolutely extreme level when it comes to Bryce. Here's a bit of truth telling though: There are, in fact, things Bryce does well. Likewise, there are areas in which he's improved over his time here. He has, on several occasions now, legitimately helped us win games. On the flipside, there have been failures in other areas as well as coaching that we're not in any way his fault.  And finally , it is also genuinely possible that the team may see him as the future, even if we don't. The craziest part, though? It's actually possible that they're right and we're wrong. All of this is true, and more, yet if you accept any of these premises people go from zero to apesh-t in under three seconds 😳 Anything less than total disavowal of Bryce and / or agreement that he's the worst QB of all time and suddenly you're a "stan". Oy 🙄 The reality though?  Bryce is indeed an NFL quarterback. Not a great one, probably backup level good, and I've seen way worse. Now, if you run that statement through your personal Google translator and it comes back with some version of "I want to throw 50 million a year at Bryce for the next 10 years", that's not really my issue it's yours  I don't wanna make him the franchise quarterback, but it's not my call. Win or lose, the team is going to do what they think is best. And as always, if it disagrees with what I think we should do, I'm gonna hope I'm the one who's wrong. Internet clout means nothing. Watching my favorite team win at my favorite sport meas fun 😁
