Really...? Why? Have you seen anything from Barnidge to suggest he couldn't be a very good NFL TE? He only catches everything thrown to him, and has an ability for YAC. Olsen has better top end speed, but I think they have similar skill sets.

Barnidge can be as good a receiving TE as about anyone in the league.

Not sure if you're serious, but I think he could be a top 15 receiving TE if given the opportunities.

Agreed. There are only so many receptionss to go around, and Barnidge has caught everything thrown his way.

And a good portion of Shockey's receptions have gone to Tolbert, and I am ok with that.

Thats why they drafted him. He's a pass catching TE but Fox never used him like that. Fox likes his blocking TE's

Barnidge does not catch everything thrown to him. Otherwise he'd get more reps. He's not a bad TE2 at all, but some people overrate him like they overrated Seidman once he got into the end zone a couple times.

The Panthers need a guy alongside Olsen who can block and catch. Shockey filled that role.

it could have been more if he was a bigger part of the game plan and wasn't ignored in so many plays the first part of the year. the offense focused too much on cam and smitty. spread the ball around more in the air and on the ground and you become harder to defend and get in the endzone more.

I think he can still be better. Olsen could've easily been a 1k receiver this year but thanks to the poor coaching. As good of a season Olsen is having, I believe we're still under utilizing him. Olsen should be grabbing 5-7 receptions a game.
