Picked up the 2009 Preview yesterday. Some interesting predictions but I like this one:

NFC South 2009 records:

1-Carolina Panthers (11-5) (2nd in NFC)

2-New Orleans Saints (9-7)

3-Atlanta Falcons (9-7)

4-Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-12)

I know its pretty much a collection of popular opinion, but it made me happy.

Well if you want an under the radar comment, they picked Tony Romo over D. Will as a more important to his team, having more potential, and more productive player.

there is no such thing as under the radar in the NFL. Under the radar is a term used originally by fans who got tired of seeing their team ranked terribly each and every preseason and wanted to have a eason to bark early anyway and has since morphed into a ridiculous belief that a fan sounds cool if he has a desire for his team to hide in the shadows and pounce on unsuspecting and ill-prepared opponents. As if that could actually happen in then most anticipated, most covered, and most popular sport in the US with each new season.

Anyone who says they are glad to be flying under the radar is just as correct if they say they are glad to be the proud owner of a flying pink unicorn with gold teeth who grants three wishes to anybody with webbed feet.

It's just ridiculous....In my opinion.

Haha, this is great. People diss us and you guys whine...now someone picks us to win the South and you whine. What the hell?! I love this board! :)

And I'm tiiiiiiiiired of flying under the radar. We'll never be BIG TIME if we think of ourselves as helpless little underdogs. If our organization and players can't act like the best, we'll never be the best.

    • Seems to me that the Bucs have less fight in them now than they had in week 16. The real test is going to be if the Panthers can sustain focus and discipline throughout. With the Bucs being at home, maybe that gives them a little boost of confidence and energy.  Wouldn’t it be something if for ONCE the Panthers came out and dominated from the opening snap and just took this shook Bucs team to task?  If the Panthers see-saw form follows, we are in line for the W. Hard to say we have momentum but we do have a pretty clear pattern of following a loss with a win.  I’m going to say 24-16 Panthers!!
    • When Parcell’s said Bryce better “walk on water”…..the implied concern wasn’t that the tiny QB could survive being hit.  It was acknowledging he would have to be extremely special to overcome the handicaps he would face at this level.  Which he isn’t and can’t.  which isn’t just being hit.  It’s being able to play in an NFL pocket and make NFL throws from it….and that ultimately is Bryce’s problem.  He doesn’t play well from a NFL pocket and can’t make all the throws as needed.  He can’t see as others can.  Which impacts the throws he does and doesn’t take.  It also impacts him bailing and killing plays and turning them into scrambles/dead plays
    • 9:30 kick off here in Scotland, which is better than the 01:20 early hours of Monday that I feared. Will definitely be watching, but probably wouldn't if it had been 0120 as I need to be up for work at 05:45. Falcons Saints is 6pm on the Sunday so will watch that too if it becomes relevant
