Cam's Contract

I stand by the statement. We have someone with the ability to become one of the greatest players ever at the most important position. You have to lock up someone like that for the long haul.

We can negotiate after 3rd year. Then we have an option for a 5th year and then we can franchise him twice.

In short, we have all of the leverage and plenty of time.

a) when most huddlers think we begin to negotiate with him

B) what his contract looks like in terms of dollars (probably hard to say) and more importantly length.

I was thinking about this last night, and I think it's important that the organization starts to negotiate as soon as possible.

His current deal is 4 years with a team option for a 5th.So if we can't start talks until the end of next season that would give us a max two-year window to get something done.

No way to know what it will look like till we get a new GM and how he performs next year. Next year is essentially a contract year for Cam.

He's under contract and isn't going anywhere ( like some on here believe).
