There's the link for the interview...

I had to look for it after I had heard a clip of it on the radio yesterday. He didn't sound to excited about the prospects from the sound of his voice, but he does sound like we're definitely an option. He also said that he has heard we were interested in him.

It sounds like he could still be on the market next month so if we have a little left over after signing our draft picks, we should consider bringing him in assuming he is willing to play for only 1.5-2.5 million because that is the most we can afford to pay (if that).

why? our LB corp is nothing to complain about, and he has been in the league for 11 yrs already.

He is a natural DE. He was moved to LB when Dallas switched to a 3-4 defense. He never liked it, and prefers to play DE. You can never have too many good linemen.

unless he moves to DT..i say we have too many DE..that will not be here long we need to get young players that can give us that pass rush we need.

big mixed feelings about this one. love the experience factor he would bring. i don't see him as being a long term solution and i think i would rather see us develop our other DEs...get the future bookends, johnson and brown as much PT as possible.

as far as moving him to DT...maybe on passing downs. i don't know. he's same height but about 20 pounds lighter than brayton. not sure about that going against the interior and not sure he would like that anymore than being an OLB. still, he would be solid for a year, maybe 2...and something that we would need if peppers isn't here which he most likely will be. peppers could stand to have someone here he looks up to, though.

    • We had Darnold in a terrible situation for Sam Darnold and the team he's QBing. Darnold is best deployed as a high level game manager. He has elite throwing skills but he's disaster waiting to happen when he has to press and a QB has to press on a bad team. Seattle is a great spot for him surrounded with great weapons with an elite defense to lean on.  Swap him and Stafford last night and the Seahawks cruise while Darnold has 3-4 turnovers having to try to play hero ball for the Rams.
    • This picture was posted by the NFL back in September and shows Darnold and Maye at the front closest to the Lombardi trophy. I personally don’t believe in the “script” theory. I do believe that the NFL will influence specific games to get a more entertaining outcome at times. However, this is gaining some steam online and even got a response from NFL PR.
    • In the last 5 years, nearly 10% of the NFL's starting QBs (19% of the NFC QBs) were / are (at some point) on the Panther's roster.  Of those QBs, their 2025 win percentage (regular season) was (combined-- the Seahawks, Bucs, and Panthers) won 30 of 51 games--nearly 60%--in 2025.  At an average of 10 wins per season, a team has a better than 90% chance of making the playoffs.  (Heck, I nearly added Caleb Williams to this forumula since we basically gave the Bears their QB as well).
