My Case for drafting Kennan Allen and Matt Elam.

LOL at Allen and Elam.

We will go OL in the first and in the second It really depends on what we do in free agency.I wanna future #1 receiver but we could also use an impact DT/FS.

My top 5 right now:

1. Eric Fisher LT Central Michigan

2. Chance Warmack OG Bama

3. Jonathan Banks CB Miss St.

4. Cordarell Patterson WR Tennessee

5. Dee Milliner CB Bama

That's a GREAT Top Four!

But never pick a Bama corner.

Dee Milliner isn't like other Alabama corners from the past.

He's very big and physical. Did you see how he shut down the 6'6 Tyler eifert last night?

Let me be more clear... don't draft a Bama corner in the FIRST round.

It's always easier for corners to "dominate" the receivers they cover when the opposing QB is constantly running for his life.

Bama linemen, please.

I like Warmack more than Millner as far as Bama prospects go, but Millner would automatically make an impact in our secondary, if we chose to go that route.

OG's are a lot easier to find than true shutdown corners, just remember that.

If Gamble is cut, I totally agree. I think as things stand right now, Milliner will likely be gone though by the time we pick.

Milliner could be gone. Jonathan Banks is right there with him as the #1 corner prospect though. Banks reminds me of Ike Taylor to a tee. Truly a shutdown corner.

I'm honestly thinking all the Warmack hype might end him up in the top ten.

I can see definitely see Warmack being hyped that high also. He really did look like a top NFL road grader last night. I know the whole unwritten -Don't draft a G high- rule but a team with a hole at that position before us could very well go for it.

Banks is very interesting and that's a cool comparison. One thing I remember noting about him is who he thinks the best all around WR is he's played against: Quinton Patton.

*edit: here's the link & quote-

You’ve faced a lot of great receivers in this league. Who’s the best one you’ve gone against?

JB: He’s not in the SEC, but I feel like (Quinton Patton) from Louisiana Tech is the best receiver I’ve played against since I’ve been here. I’ve gone against some good ones in the SEC, too, but he’s probably the most complete.

~disclaimer~

I don't watch much college ball at all! I could give a rip about trying to convince people I'm a draft grading genius!

What I do know, though, is that while almost anything is a sexier pick than OL - we still need to go OL early in this draft, and even that won't be enough to really fix the OL problems. Among the things that were terrible on our line: LG, RG, RT. I'll give LT a pass because Gross, while declining, was not our worst OL player this year and Kalil will be back so C is good. Silatolu is still young so we are probably not drafting a LG but the entire right side of our line is a turnstile most of the time.

The NFL can change all it wants from an offensive league to a defensive league, from a running league to a passing league....and in any iteration if you can win your battles on the OL and DL you have an exceptional chance of winning your games.

We do need to address our receivers and our safeties but more important than either is putting a solid, above average, line in front of Cam. That will make every piece of our offense look better just by giving them the luxury of time.

    • How do you expect him to step up in the pocket when Ickey is being pushed to the spot you want him to be. Stills don’t tell the entire picture.
    • They're examples of denying reality. Here are some others: ,- Bryce is the worst QB in the NFL right now (no he isn't) - Bryce is the worst QB in NFL history (no he's not; that's stupid) - Well then Bryce is at least the the worst QB in the league over the last three years (nope, he's actually improved a lot since year one, which was a turbulent year anyway) - That's not true, he hasn't Improved one but since his rookie year (oh come on) 🙄 - Well, even if he did, we can't win with him (obviously we can) - Yeah but not unless everyone else is damn near perfect (think the game film from our wins this year would back that up?) - Even so, we won those games in spite of him (officially the stupidest argument available) And no, those are made up. You can find those quotes and other equally moronic statements in various threads around the board. I know some folks always need to characterize whatever they're against as the worst thing in existence. It's hyperbole, and it's hypersilly. Likewise, you've got some who are so absolutely emotional about it that even if you think Bryce isn't good enough (which I do) they'll still call you a stan if you don't agree to label him the lousiest passer in existence 🙄 It's just dumb, and it's not realistic. But on the flipside, here are some statements which are; - Bryce is indeed capable of both playing in, and winning, an NFL game. Not on a consistent level though, and consistency is huge. - He is also capable of completing mid-range and even some deep passes; hell, he threw a beauty this past Sunday  - Yes, he has improved over his rookie season and over last year. Arguing against that is disingenuous. - Believe it or not, other players are the roster do make mistakes in games also.  - And lastly, while I know it hurts some people's narrative and arguments, Bryce does indeed deserve credit for the winning games he's played in this season. ... Every single one of those statements is true. And since i acknowledge all that, I must be in favor of keeping him in place then Except I'm not 😕 ... Don't know of anyone who doesn't think he'll get the fifth year option. Not ready to guarantee anything beyond that, though. So bottom line: Yeah, Bryce is fully expected to be our quarterback through next year. If there were a logical, realistic path to acquire a more capable starter and transition Bryce to a backup I'd be elated, but that's a pipe dream. This where we're at  I don't **** it, you don't like it, others don't either. But here We are so let's make the best of it that we can.
    • What does it matter how fast the wrs are with Bryce he is not hitting them anyway
