I know I hardly post here. But I do read in here alot on what people say. But my question is with the 2nd most hardest schedual this season. If Jake should go 1-5 to start the season. Should Fox pull Jake and give Matt moore a choice to show what he can do. I mean I ain't saying Jake will have a bad start and I don't want him to. But if that is the case. Should Fox pull jake and allow Matt moore to come in and give him a chance to prove himself for the rest of the season. If this should happen I think matt moore should have a chance. Because with one of the toughes scheduals this year and if they should go 1-5 start with Jake. Then making it into a the playoff with that kind of start would be low. But I just want ya'll opion on this.

This has been asked before, but at least it's by a Panther fan this time. ;)

I'll give the same answer I gave before. It will depend. If Jake is playing like poo then yes pull him! But if he is playing just fine and it's the defence's fault then no.

I'm sure others will go into deeper thoughts about this... :banghead:

While we're on this same line of thinking...

What if we start 0-6 and DWill averages 2.5 YPC... should we just go ahead and trade him while we can still get something for him.

What if we go 0-16 for the year... should we just replace the entire team and FO.

What if a giant meteorite hits BOA stadium... should we just ship the team to LA.

Woohoo!! Go Panthers!!!!!

What if DWill Avg. is 8.7 ypc but fumbles every 6th carry? Just shoot him on the field.

or

If Peppers avg. 5 sacks a game, but takes 4 out every 6 plays off. Should we offer a new contract or tag him again, then we can go through this crap all over again?!

Well if Peppers manages to average 5 sacks a game, that would be 80 sacks for the season. I think that we could handle that.....i think it would be some kinda record.

at 1-5 our season is far from over. it would be a tough road but still, it could be salvaged. considering that this is the last season on Fox's contract, you better be sure that he is going to be trying to get as many wins as he can to either keep his job or get a new one somewhere.

mccown gives the team the best chance to win in the short term if jake, b/c of injury or general sucktitude, no longer has the job.

long term the best bet is moore but considering what is at stake for fox, the rest of the season wouldn't be a time to try and develop anyone. only if mccown shows that he can't get the job done either does moore get a shot. the coaching staff and especially the players feel more comfortable with mccown than moore at the moment. that is who they would go with.

Even worse;

what if Jake throws 3 INT's in the 1st half of the Eagles game and we are down 17-0....

WWFD???

:D

ANSWER; We have no clue.

    • I am no football savant as has been demonstrated here over and over, but I saw it.  I went for years doing the mock draft thing and researching the players that we might get around our pick, time consuming stuff. And we would get to the draft and trade the pick. All that time, wasted.  So I quit doing that. Also realized I was not a scout and would never be a scout and went to looking the videos and reports After  we picked a guy.  Maybe I would look at the 1st round, but quit that too and just looked after we picked.    When they did that trade I saw Bryce and his size and just ruled him out. Then it got to yeah they are probably going to take him, I relented and looked at some video and got to his pro day. It took me all of a few minutes to see the issues. The footwork. The arm. And the tape of games? The backyard style. I knew, what can I say?  (Also, went down the physical checklist, not a single plus attribute on the NFL level. Arm, speed, size, etc, nothing to offset the negatives. nothing)  I think it was easy for me because I had not watched a single game he played in college, and wasn’t drawn in by the hype. Had no preconceived notions and just looked at it pretty clinically.  I got in here and everyone was going “but look at what he did in college! It is the SEC, if he can do it in the SEC he can do it in the NFL!” Couldn’t reason with hardly anyone.  I don’t think I could tell you which guy would succeed between two prototypical guys with great arms and athleticism, and have no special insight into any of that. My one calling in football scouting was to see the real about what we were about to do. And you still don’t know for sure until they get in a real game in the NFL.
    • Miss Bryce sorely is possibly the most hilarious statement I have read on the Huddle in quite some time.
    • He did only throw 1 pass 20+ in that game. I think he is still struggling to adjust to the NFL. At Alabama he was able to extend plays and play backyard football. That's not only not the style of offense we have been running but his physical skills don't lend themselves to that style of play at this level.  So, the amount of issues he actually has to clean up are WAAAAAY more than I anticipated as a guy that had Bryce #1 on my board in that draft class.  I am just not seeing a reasonable path for him to clean it all up and develop in a reasonable timeframe
