Maybe so, but it doesn't change the fact he did nothing for them because they couldn't block on returns. A returner isn't going to do anything on a return unit that is bad at blocking.

What else did Holliday do for the Texans? Absolutely nothing. Which is why they cut him. Turns out it had more to do with blocking than Holliday.

You could have brought Hester in and outside of maybe this year, he would have done nothing on our ST unit. Our returner was getting hit as soon as he touched the football.

I won't argue our ST units have generlly sucked for several years now, but an actual return man could make a huge difference. And you may be right about the Texans, but Holliday flashed while there and they let Jones go too. Both guys would've been worth the cost to outbid the teams they ended up with. IIRC though, Holliday passed through waivers so he could've been had for nothing.

For one, I hope ee hire Toub this offseasonand then draft/sign a legit return man.

In all fairness fp, if you recall Armanti's punt at the end of the season, imagine that was either of these guys... Easy TD. Yeah, blocking has to be on point, but a runner who has a knack for finding the lane and the explosiveness to get to it and up through it makes the blocking much easier. For as poor as our ST have been, there have been several returns we've had that if we had a guy who could accelerate through the lane, it would have been returned.
