Farve has surgery

I dont see what the big deal is..people are acting like he said he was going to Green bay and blow the place up..if the guy wants to come out of retirement..so what

farve underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair his throwing shoulder at some point last month, according to Chris Mortensen and Ed Werder of ESPN.com.

It’s regarded as a strong indication that the former NFL Most Valuable Player intends to end his retirement for the second time. And the Minnesota Vikings are the team that Favre has targeted if he opts to play again.

Per the report, which cited two sources, Favre hasn’t yet decided whether he will play and is still contending with a torn biceps tendon

Will someone tell Favre that retirement is suppose to be permanent. Not playing for a couple months is something we call the offseason.

why is it any fans business to tell a man when to retire?

no player, coach, or fan should ever have that much power over any player, and God bless them, if they can still be signed to a team, let them play until they are 80.

I can understand why so many people don't want Farve back, cause insert him onto the Vikings, and they become the team to beat in the NFC.

If you listen to the media, sure. If that's the case then why aren't the Panthers beating down his door?

I think I may be the only person in the entire universe who thinks that Jackson and Rosenfels are not worse than Favre.

Rosenfels is a turnover machine!!! (And Favre isn't???)

Jackson had a bad game in the playoffs!!!! (And Favre hasn't done that about every year since his SB win year?)

He's old, hurt, and tired.

But I WANT him to join the Vikings, since it is my belief that he sucks now and will make them worse.

He might be the #4 QB in in North. Yeah, behind the new kid too.

He's a pickasaurus rex now.

Probably.

Buuuuuttt...it's not a given.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
