Do you think teams thats at the top half of the league would hire Mike Shula as their OC?

The best teams generally have the best players....

look at Denver....yeahs there coaching staff just screams great current NFL minds doesn't it.

Why don't you look at the OCs for all the teams in the playoffs and look at how many hot shot gurus they employ

Can't wait for him to prove all of you wrong. There's sticking to something out of principle... And then there's going overboard.

You have not applied any type of common sense to this hire at all.

Just for shits and giggles...

I'd love to hear what you would have done if you we're JR...

Who would you have hired? What would you have done?

Well, winning teams usually hire, you know, the best possible candidates. Shula is not one of those.

I just don't think so? This organization has made more bad choices than good. I will always be a panthers fan but fu*k it is so frustrating. Its like for every good move we make, we make a terrible one. Its like having a child you love dearly but they constantly fu*k up. I don't know? as long as Jerry Richardson is the owner of this team the Carolina Panthers will always be AVERAGE AT BEST. He will never win a superbowl as an owner. And I hope I'm Wrong... but I don't think I am. He makes too many ass backwards, non-aggressive decisions

Probably not......but he's the right fit for us. He know's the personnel, he knows the system. He's still young enough to learn from his experiences. I think he will be fine. I have a tendency to think most of us are going to be pleasantly surprised with him.

To the OP.

No, not based off of his resume and futility, poor play calling, during his previous stints. Certainly not.

However, he has the Cam, Chud connection. And apparently that's what Rivera wanted or was looking for for continuities sake (unless you believe he wanted to secure his job for a year; JR was cheap, and/or Gettleman, set him up/encouraged it, so he can clean house if Rivera fails next year). All possible scenarios.

He certainly was a downgrade on paper to Jackson. Of course, the Panthers hope his familiarity with the offense, Cam, and ability to learn from his previous stints mistakes, will make up the difference.

It's certainly a risk, despite the underlying conveniences. So We'll see?

Its Revera's job to lose and he knows if he starts out like last year he is toast. If that happens, look for all the coaches to be fired.

Gettleman and Richardson will be desperate and throw the bank at the biggest name out there. Its a win win because either we will have a playoff team or we will get that big name coach.

LOL

If they suck be prepared to see a whole season of it. Even then it might be two seasons depending...on how bad they suck and how many poeple pressure JR. According to JR's pie charts, we have been winning for the past three years.
