QB Coach?

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Why does no one mention George Whitfield???He said he would be working with cam this offseason and what better way than as his official qb coach?? Look at the jobs he's done with luck, Big Ben and cam among others.. Would love him honestly

i'm not sure he'd want to stop what he's doing now.

i'm sure he's getting paid a lot more what he's doing now and has a lot more freedom/control over his schedule.

pretty sure weinke wouldn't be all that interested leaving what he's doing now, either.

Consultants don't generally take coaching jobs (and honestly, why should they?)

The best known name out there for QB coaching right now is Jim Zorn. John Ramsdell and Jeremy Bates are also looking for work.

i'd be fine with any of them, truthully.

zorn would be great, though.

What ever the Panthers do, I really hope they get someone dedicated, who can truly help Cam better his mechanics and delivery (as a general, continual purpose and mission), as opposed to some one--who has a name, or from a relationship, that's competent but more window dressing.

His future is too important to the franchise.

Wait so JR isn't too cheap to pay two guys...isn't that what I heard?

Person's initial speculation was that Shula would do both, but the articles on the team site advising of Shula's promotion never really lent any credence to that.

I suppose it's possible, but with Person now talking about us having that as an opening on staff, it sounds less likely.

Seems like they could easily look to the pros and college for a QB coach. Or someone from the niners, seahawks, and redskins staff

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
