Thinking about getting a puppy

Ja Rhule

Not trying to piss anyone off here, but I too purchase from a breeder.

Nothing wrong with pound puppies, I just have certain desires in my dog, and prefer to know that I have a better shot at getting those few things if I buy.

My next one will either be another English, or a non shedding, something like a labradoodle. Either way I will inspect the breeders like crazy and play with both the mother and father before leaving a deposit.

I have a GSD, she's a great one. Just be prepared for shedding, and a ton of it. She's not even long haired and it's terrible, but worth it. So smart, they learn without you even training, they just pick up on it. There is nothing wrong with a pound pup, but I've had 2 pure-bred GSD's in my life and if something works, you don't change it up.

My fiancé and I decided to get 2 dogs. Purebred German Shepherd puppy and we also decide to adopt another dog. We came by animal shelter and we saw this very sweet german shepherd mix by name Connor. He was very laid back so we asked one of the volunteers if we can interact with him. When they brought Connor to us, he pee'd on the floor the second he saw us. When I tried to pat him, he pee'd on the floor again. He also is not good with other dogs so we had to say no to Connor. We will go back to Shelter this week.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got a call today from the breeder and he informed that puppies were born. I drove almost 2 hours to give my down deposit. I will be the first one to pick from the litter. I met papa dog and saw mama dog and the 2 day old puppies. Mamma looked very exhausted, watching over adorable little puppies.

Here's papa dog

Will be picking my puppy in 4 weeks and I'll be able to take it home in 8 weeks. Exciting times.

Just saw the thread. I got my pup from a breeder in Polkton that strictly breeds working dogs. They also offer protection training. By boy turned 3 in December. They are smart and will test your nerves. Spend as much time with the pup as you can. Mine as fully house trained in 3 days and knew all basic commands at 9 weeks.

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
