WR's drafted by the Panthers since 2002 - the case to draft a WR in round 1?

It a statiscal fact that there is a 3 year adjustment period for WR. Plain and Simple just using the 1st 2 rounds of Wr's drafted in the last 10 years. It takes time for them to reach their full potential. So lets not make a judgement on all the guys on the roster just yet.

Then why the hell were you arguing that you didn't want Patterson because it would take him 2 years to adjust?

prove that there is a significant difference between year one, two, and three.

look at the number of active WRs that have hit 1000 yards and see when they hit it the first time. more hit it in year two than in year three.

Patterson reminds me of Cam two years ago. Has all the tools to be a star but is still a bit raw and kind of an unknown. I say no, but I said no to Cam as well so...

agreed, but some people tend to think that you can't compare the two. i don't know if it's because it's harder to make it as a WR? but apparently it's an unfair comparison.

Because I want our 1st round pick to have a instant impact. The last 2 years we had a QB with the greatest rookie season ever and a LB who lead the league in tackles. I want to keep that going if we can. And no matter what Rayzor says Patterson isn't a can't miss prospect. If he was there would be no chance he would make it out the top 5 and we wouldn't even be discussing if we can get him. He has ? And is a risky pick at 14. That's what I was "arguing".

You might want to check your list Holmes, Jennings didn't blow up until their 3rd year and Plax best year in his Career was his 3rd year. Plus I didn't know we were adding TE.
