bP's list of possibles:

Paul Millsap - will have to throw MAX $$ and out bid everyone

Samuel Dalembert - will have to make attractive offer that most teams won't give him

Antawn Jamison - dangle the homecoming for him again

Nikola Pekovic ® - offer MAX deal and a city that will love you forever

Byron Mullens ® - bring back and make focal point of offense

Dejuan Blair ® - offer a starting spot and decent $$

Timofey Mozgov ® - offer a ton of minutes backing up Biz

bP's probable outcome:

we will throw out a MAX contract to Pekovic, Bynum, Jefferson, Howard, Smith, West and Millsap but none stick.

We end up resigning Mullens and overpay for Blair and Dalembert.. sorry..

LOL you think that Cho will throw a max contract to Pekovich, West, and Milsap????????????????????????

WHAT?!?!?

I can almost understand Pekovich, but a max contract to David West and Paul Millsap... LOL

I don't mean to sound rude here, but honestly that is extremely laughable.

I honestly think they could get Bynum believe it or not. He doesn't give a poo about anything but money. Now if Houston is willing to give him the max that's another story, but if nobody else is willing to risk it with his knees and the Bobcats will.....Also, you have to ask yourself do you want to commit the max to Bynum....

I like Bynum and I miss his smoothness on offense so much, but I would not even consider giving him a max contract. Maybe he gets healthy, and maybe he doesn't. Judging by his history -- he won't ever be fully healthy and something like that could cripple your franchise financially. Is Andrew Bynum worth the max if he is healthy every year? No doubt (best offensive big in the NBA when healthy). It just doesn't look like he will ever be healthy.

I agree with this completely. Was a huge Bynum fan when he was in L.A., and still want to see the kid do well. Doesn't help that he just literally doesn't give a poo about anything but getting paid and partying though....

I think any team going after Pekovic will have to include an poison pill of some sort to make it happen. It's going to take a lot of money too. Probably around 11-14 million a season plus the poison pill year, which might surprise some on here. Not sure if he's worth that kind of money though.

I wouldn't. He could be a good bench player thoe. But I'm not maxing a bench player.

Idk man. I think that he's worthy of a max contract. Should probably give him, Hendo, 32 year old David West, JJ Hickson, etc all max contracts.

I would like to see Mullens paired with a true, good, center and see how he plays. Obviously it would be nice to get two of these bigs, but if we only get one, and keep Mullens, I'd be semi-OK. It's time for that advantage of having Jordan as the GM to play out. Maybe money+Jordan+possible name change can bring guys here.

I know everyone wants titles, but maybe we can snag someone that wants to find a team, and make it HIS team. You can be a superstar on the Bobcats while just another player on some other teams, lol.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
