Pat McCrory says there is no money for the stadium.

It's a long read, but worth it for any actually interested in this situation:

Basically, the Panthers don't need anything from North Carolina, they just want it and hope they can leverage it.

Did they deep six the 140M or just the 62M JR wanted from the state?

They refused both. Instead they want the Panthers to use the existing tax which would generate $110 million instead of $144. So you have won at both levels.

Poor people should get off their lazy asses and get a job. Glad Pat is cutting their wages. Tired of my tax money going to those idiots.

Before opening your mouth know some of the people that are affected by Pat lowering benefits. This past year the US Army contract that I have worked on for 7 years just dropped from 230 people to 23 people in the last 6 months alone. These people worked their asses off for 7 years only to get slapped in the face by an asshole that lowers benefits but gives his entire cabinet pay raises as soon as his ass got into office.

Now those say 207 people can’t afford to feed their family or pay their bills and the job market still sucks in the state and country. By the way they have been tax payers for the last 15 to 30 years of their lives as well. Most of them spent the last 20-25 years of their lives giving you the right to talk poo about people you know nothing of. Most are disabled Army veterans and are now struggling because of a fuged up government and its asshole elected officials that poo on the very ones that defend this country,

Once again for those who say McCrory is "withholding funds" and didn't read the article:

"We don’t have the money in the state to address that issue,” McCrory told the Observer Monday.

“I have never been actually asked for the $62 million, nor do we have it.”

McCrory also said the team doesn’t qualify for an incentive grant from the state Commerce department.

Even if it did, he added, the fund used up much of its money under his Democratic predecessor.

“Gov. (Bev) Perdue, in her last three months in office, used up most of the JDIG money,” McCrory said.
