Pat McCrory says there is no money for the stadium.

Recommended Posts

This is complete bullshit by the way. Take the money from Golden Leaf foundation that has taken 600 million dollars of taxpayer money and we could have two new stadiums and not change the state budget at all.

BTW, Republicans should HATE this. This is a local bill that big brother government in Raleigh has stepped in to slap their hands and tell them how to run their local government. It goes against everything that Republicans supposedly stand for.

Any how...I wish Mr Richardson luck in finding ways to better his billion dollar business.

Did you know he could raise $150M for the improvements by just raising ticket prices by $20 over 10 years.

We have perhaps the cheapest NFL franchise in the nation in terms of taxpayer money. Raising ticket prices would be even worse. Blackouts, and perhaps an actual loss of revenue with a disenfranchised fanbase does not bode well for long term stability for a small market team.

a football stadium is not a priority nor should it be. JR wants it done so bad, he can reach into his own pocket or deal with it. Who the fug cares about glitz and glam of the stadium. Only thing I care about is what is going on on the field. They can play on a raggedy pee wee field for all I care. Sure would cost a lot less to watch

You are talking about raising ticket prices by $320 dollars a year for two tickets.

That would not go over well.

I would rather pay .25 cents more for my dinner.

Right. If you can't afford 25 extra cents on your tab dining out, chances are you shouldn't be dining out anyway.

Childish for certain fans to disagree with this tax and having the team be in jeopardy of relocation just to 'stick it to' JR. A bunch of whining, annoying, assholes.

Btw, while you're whining about this, enjoy that electrical increase that the state plans to give Duke Energy, that will affect ALL North Carolina residents.

Funny how every team/fan claims their team is now headed to LA. I guess it would make for short road trips....

Personally I see it as a private industry, I dont care how much money is brought into town for it, raise your own money to operate!

Instead of giving the Joe Flaccos of the World something to the tune of 180,000.00 a day during football season, reinvest in your infrastructure like every other business owner has to. I honestly don't care if each and every player could make two million dollars a game, good for them, but the owners shouldn't cry broke after doing do. This goes for every sports team. Spend within your budget!

Its not about the 25 cents a meal, its about using it for better causes/needs. We still havent completed a damn outerbelt road here, and the sections that are done, already need more lanes. Thats just ONE SMALL example, and something most of Charlotte can benefit from.

There needs to be a Separation of Pro Sports and State.

http://www.fieldofschemes.com/ - Follow this for a while, watch how many teams are "well on their way to LA..."

Better yet, eat out once less a day, and with the money you saved in not being taxed, go buy you the book....

I love football, in fact its the only pro sport I follow now. I support it by attending games and buying merchandise, hell, I even have the NFL package. That should be enough. If its not, the NFL and Owners need a new business plan plain and simple.

They can come make minimum wage where I work...legal or not. Plenty of openings.

Or the government can get smart and start farming the medians along the highways using the labor of those that want a hand-out and are able-bodied.

Piss in this cup and show me you aren't on drugs and you can have a job...otherwise good luck.

I already give up 42% of my paycheck to the Gov. I can't give anymore.

Remind me to call you up for a job if I ever come back to the states.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
