In the last two weeks, only The Jets have kept a steady line of communication. The Lions haven't, nor have The Colts.

Just because these media outlets that you follow aren't reporting anything does not mean no other teams are iinterested.

Lattimore won't make it past the 5th round.

Riiiight, this coming from the poster who believes Lattimore is the answer to the cancer that is J-Stew and D-Will.

I don't think you understand this at all, do you?

Lattimore was a 1st round lock.

He will likely fall into day 2 or 3.

Teams will check him out medically.

5th Round picks usually don't make huge impacts.

Thus, you can "risk them".

Dwill will be cut by next season, likely cut June 1 2013

Stewart is and will be making a huge salary for the length of his deal, more than most RB's.

If you picked Lattimore, on day 3, and he flops, you have lost nothing of significant value.

If you picked Lattimore on day 3, and he returns to full strength, you have gained not only a starting quality RB, but the leverage to gain cap space with Stewart's contract as well.

Unless Gman cuts both J-Stew and D-Will, I'm willing to bet my soul he isn't thinking about drafting a RB. And if he does, it ain't Lattimore he's eyeing for a mid-round pick. The probability of us drafting him is exponentially low.

Jonathan Stewart getting a restructure is quite indicative that Papa Getts is showing faith in J-Stew being our feature back for the future.

Do you consider a 5th rd pick to be 'mid round' in a 7 rd draft?

all true, but i have a feeling a team with more wiggle room will take him well before the 5th.

agreed and we'll probably see a lot more interest in him after his proday on the 27th. i suspect that all of his energy and focs has been getting ready for that rather than talking to teams.

and people (who weren't blinded by gamecock hate) were calling him essentially the second coming of ADP or at least the best RB since him and plenty were comparing the two.

if that guy can come back from his injuries (which isn't at all unheard of...mcgahee and gore ring a bell?) then you have an elite RB taken in maybe the 4th round? signing a contract similar to that of lamar williams last year taken with the 2nd pick in the 4th...

6/1/2012: Signed a four-year, $2.58 million contract. The deal included a $486,000 signing bonus. 2013: $480,000, 2014: $570,000, 2015: $660,000, 2016: Free Agent

*insert shock face* you take that risk on with no problem. that's just not a big deal.

and you don't cut loose both williams and stewart before you try lattimore out, either. you cut williams because he's the easiest to cut loose at this point (or trade him away) and then when it's a bit more feasible you cut loose stewart or do something to get rid of that absolutely horrible and unnecessary commitment.

the production we've gotten from both/either the past couple years is very easily to replace, esp. from the likes of tolbert, lattimore, and even poole and/or armond. there's just nothing all that special to either one of those guys from a production standpoint that warrants not taking a shot at replacing them when one sticks its head up.
