Question to Ravens fans

not that there are many here and congrats to those that are, but a hypothetical say if we were to accidentally win a super bowl or any other team of that matter..

Has the celebrations come to a hault watching your team get dismantled? I'm sure soaking the victory is nice but not much more than a month after, you see your roster getting mutilated so quickly, can you even look forward to next season? Has a dreaded future kinda ruined this super bowl win or does it matter?

Im not a Ravens fan but I would take a Super Bowl win.

Our roster is getting dismantled anyway and we didnt win anything. This will happen to us as soon a s Cam's contract comes up so I would atleast take a SB win along with that,

I know what your saying but a SB win has to trump everything else.

all those years of struggling and hopes and ups and downs....I'd take a Super Bowl win at pretty much any cost at this point in my life!!

I've been fortunate enough to see my favorite team win a few Stanley Cups and a few NBA titles...and I'd trade some of those for one Lombardi!

I live in Md and know a bunch of Ravens fans. The ones I know don't care because they know that they have one of the best GMs in the history of the NFL running their team. Ozzie Newsome has led that young franchise to more super bowls in 17 years than some NFL teams who have been around for almost twice as long. They have faith in him, and frankly I would too if I was a Ravens fan. Newsome is like the Rainman as far as picking the right players for his team/scheme. Even if what they are doing seems bat poo crazy right now, they have a plan.

Hard to argue what Newsome does, and the guys they lost got ridiculously overpaid. They didn't get much value for Boldin, which is probably the biggest loss (other than Williams, maybe), but his salary does come off the books.

    • Me and you clearly have different definitions of production. If you remove the 2023 season where Thielen had just over 1k yards he is 43rd on our all time receivers list just ahead of Jonathan Mingo. And before you ask why would we remove that season? Well a couple reasons. For one thing we won a whopping 2 games. And for the biggest. Thielen was 14th in targets in 2023. We absolutely force fed him the ball all season and finished with the 32nd passing offense. For comparison sake 33 year old Jerricho Cotchery eclipsed over 1k total yards in just 2 more games and with 67 less targets than Thielen did in that 2023 season. He has above average hands. That's it. We overpaid him because we were desperate and overvalued him. That's the reality no matter how many times you or anyone else wants to quote me and get defensive about it.
    • He's played great and it was a win-win (rare free agent) for both parties.  One of the points is he hasn't made enough difference to "waste" 35 million on. Another point is by the time Panthers are hitting their prime, he would have taken snaps away from young WRs/TEs/RBs. "Thus" in the long term, hurting the teams new future "window."  But I dare think of the monkey poo of a offense the Panthers had without him the past 2 years. Lack of talent leads to many problems, including paying a 35 year old to be somewhat respectable. Hes one of few that cared enough and made a effort. Plus you know he's done great stuff in many other ways for the team, community juggernaut, leadership, etc.  Judgement is for AT and his 3 year panther career!!
    • But it has gotten a little wacky. RBs-https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/contracts/_/position/rb     A couple months ago iggles made Bark the highest guaranteed RB, jeanty was until then. That's what matters the guarantee. A rookie never played a down was the leader, until iggles howie made things right.  If a safety gets drafted in the top 8 or so, he would have the highest money too or very close to it.    Add in TEs and C too.    Even with the fixed %, the numbers are getting too much for a player that's not proven themselves.     Plus anytime a QB is drafted it screws up the contracts for players around and if next year a punter gets drafted at the same 90th spot, they want the same contract with the 5.7% increase. Teams would be laughing.    Its just reached this point. Another 10 years and I bet the vets will be crying.
