RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina House members agreed Wednesday the city of Charlotte can spread around local hotel and prepared food and beverage tax revenues to pay for upgrades sought by the Carolina Panthers to its downtown stadium.

I think they are also reducing the total funding by 37 million. Hopefully the panthers are fine with picking up the rest and this whole thing ends.

Only problem is this one still has to make it through the senate vote. Not gonna be easy from what I've read.

It's not likely to pass, which is sad because this bill doesn't have enough money. Panthers wanted 144 million from Charlotte and additional money from the state.

Also a new team teather to Charlotte isn't included in this deal.

It should. It's local money. But I'm still skeptical. Just sucks that the original proposal was voted down so quickly.

Ok, my bad. I heard that it wasn't likely to pass all the way through a week or so ago.

What's worse about the deal is that it doesn't come with a Panther's tie to the area. That's only if the City and State can get the money asked for together and so far the State is refusing and the City is 30-40 million short.
