Keenan Allen Pro Day Tommorow.

Again, because you disagree with something does not make it demonstrably false.

Constructing arguments out of false positives such as "Hopkins had more production!" is still "false." The argument itself may not be "false." But the fact that you are willing to take such a narrow minded, out of context or misleading approach shows nothing more than either:

A. A blatant agenda

B. A lack of familiarity about the situation so distinct that you really have no business offering up an opinion on the matter.

It shows you're either willing to lead people astray with false information just to support your argument, which deserves every bit of criticism it receives, or that you really didn't know about his situation at Cal which is evidence that you don't know enough about it all to formulate such a strong opinion.

This is addressed to you too C47.

Here comes the ignorant butthurt 40 time apologizers and Keenan Allen jockstrap holders, who immediately throw around names, and feel they are better evaluators of talent then anyone else because they're too good for 40 time.

1a. If your argument includes justifying something because of Jerry Rice(or any other guy who was clearly the #1 player all at the position), then you've already jumped the shark and your entire argument is invalid.

1b. Jerry Rice was great, but he also benefitted from having 2 Hall of Famers at QB, and he was also from several generations ago when DBs were much slower. There is a huge difference between the DBs of the 80s and 90s and the ones in 2010, so you can't compare a 40 time he ran in 1984 and his effectiveness then to one TWENTY NINE YEARS LATER.

Boldin benefited form arguably the best or second best WR in the league lining up on the opposite side of him in Arizona, and always played the role of #2. In Baltimore he primarily lined up in the slot. Why? Because he's big and physical, and creates mismatches in the slot, and too slow to get open consistently on the outside. Go look at all his big catches, Boldin played a role similar to how to flex out Greg Olsen in our offense, creating mismatches due to size in the middle of the field. We aren't drafting a #2 or a slot guy, we're trying to draft a future #1 of the next decade.

2. You'd think fans of this franchise would have learned after all this time the importance of drafting healthy players. How many picks have we spent on the David Gettis', Brandon Hogans, Drew Carters, Beasons, Davis(love his comeback though), Otahs, Dan Morgans, and many others that had one injury snowball into years of playing 5 games and going to IR. The 14th pick in the draft needs to be someone who can start day 1 on the field and stay there. You don't spend the 14th pick on someone who may or may not be the same again.

3. Say he had a terrible QB all you want, but the reason people expect highlight plays from WR is not because of fast 40 times, it's because the DBS THEY FACE WOULD NEVER MAKE IT IN THE NFL. If they guy is worth anything in the NFL, he should be able to make highlight plays against Pac 10 scrub corners that would be happy to be a special teams unit for 1-2 years and then flame out of the league.

I like Keenan, but not as a 14th pick, there is too much risk and his potential to be a future #1 is not there to me. Stop with your hipster "40 time is so overrated" attitude and blind homerism. And stop making a big deal of Rivera being there, if a coach didn't visit a Pro Day that's a hour away and ran by one of our assistants, then that'd be weird.

This entire post is conjecture.

I've come to agree with allot of your posts, but Christ man do you really need to post with such an over compensatory pseudo intellectual vocabulary. You just come off as an asshat.

Relax man.

It's getting like Foxnews up in this bitch. The word "Demagogue" is coming soon.

Right because Reggie Wayne, Boldin, Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall, J Blackmon, Crabtree, Colston, Vincent Jackson, Michael Irvin, Jerry Rice, Roddy White are all track guys.

Yes or no, is it easier to get away from a defender (get open) if a WR is faster or slower? Speed isn't everything, never said it was, but to think it is NBD is ludicrous and doesn't make sense. Easier to get away from the cops in a Lambo or a Corolla?

he has the best catch radius of any WR in the draft and did it consistently. If you couple that with zach maynard throwing the football, I feel comfortable putting him up against anyone in this class.

No he doesn't. Hunter catch radius is on par with Megaton and Burris. Where are you getting your info from?

Without even doing research, I can tell you Wayne, Marshall, Blackmon, Crabtree, and White all ran mid 4.5s and lower.

Bottom line is maybe he's a good bit faster then 4.71, and he's hurt by the injury. I also know David Gettis ran a 4.3 a few years ago, and guess what, he hasn't played in 2 years due to injury. Plenty of people are expecting us to ditch him for the new WR, and he was a 6th round draft pick who takes up next to no cap room. Why would we spend the 14th overall pick to replace him with another guy trying to come back from injury.

So are yours.

Difference being that I can, and have, within the course of this thread backed up and sourced my argument with fact and general consensus from reputable sources.

Such a method is lost on you, however.

Son do you even know what the word conjecture means?

Yes, and you did not use it correctly. Conjecture would mean the fact that Boldin has been a #2 and #3 his entire career, and seen most of his success as of late lined up at the slot as false, which you can go look at his playoff catches to see that.

It would also mean that corners in the 80s and 90s weren't faster then today, which you can easily find out as well.

Or do you mean the part that the Panthers have constantly taken chances on injury plagued players, and they have rarely seen the field? Now tell me, what part of my post is conjecture.
