Just thought y'all might be interested.

Oh, and strangely enough, 04.17. is the date of both the 'Cats AND Hornets final games of the season.

Probably just a coincidence.

:)

it says "Flight" Hornet colors with a new name in Flight would mean Jordan doesnt have to buy the Hornet name from Benson. I hope that doesnt happen though.

he doesn't have to buy the name from Benson, now. Stern and the NBA said it is a flat $3 million rebrand fee.

It's to the point where I'm tired of talking about it. Jordan needs to either do it or close the door on it for good.

I do think he is thinking about a rebrand though - but it's going to be what Mike wants to call it no matter what the surveys or polls reflect.

And to be honest, I'd be cool with another name. I prefer the Hornets name but the name "Bobcats" has been bad from the start. Nobody in this town cares about the bobcats. Unless "your" Knicks/Celtics/Heat/Lakers are playing against them. Look what happened when the Heat played here a week ago and they sat everybody. The public outcry was that the "fans" bought tickets to see LeBron and company and now they didn't get to see them. Nobody was excited that the bobcats were on National TV and had a legitimate chance for a win. LOL.

So does the okc thunder. Bobcats sound like a high school squad

I mean I don't know why this is such a hard concept to understand...people in this city do not care about the bobcats.

The brand has been a complete failure and should be taught to prospective business students as a model of what someone should not do when launching a business.

Like I said earlier, when the Heat came here a week ago and they announced they were resting everyone...the people who were dumb enough to pay face value for Bobcats' tickets were so pissed because they couldn't see LeBron and D-Wade kick the home team's ass by 60 points. No one cared that the Bobcats were going to be on national TV and had a good chance of earning an elusive "W" .....this should tell you every thing you need to know about the team's "brand" in this city.

I've been to 3 bobcats games this year. Including floor level 6 rows up (magic game 2 weeks ago). Best seats I've had at a bobcats game ever. I've paid a total of $12 for all three tickets combined this year.

    • Ideally Bryce and the other starters should get at least a full quarter and an argument could be made for 2 full quarters given how they've played early in the season the last few years.
    • A rookie that has never played a snap and a proven 1000K NFL WR are not going to be viewed the same in these type rankings.  And calling draft picks, lotto picks, isn't some new quip I just invented.  take the big 3 Hubbard, AT, insert whatever 3rd Panther you want vs Kamara, Hill, Olave.  Most football folks outside of Carolina are picking the Saints there IMO.
    • You didn’t really address the point, just like you ignored the point about the RBs initially, and saying “they are all lotto picks” is just a really silly reduction because you could say that about literally any player rookie or vet every snap, every game, every year. It is well known that different positions have different hit rates, and I would argue different types of prospects within position groups as well, and that hit rates change the further down in the draft you go. Everybody knows QB is different and that, for example, first round OL have a really high success rate. Using your lotto ticket analogy…again…you are saying a lotto ticket with a 1 in 100 chance of hitting is the exact same thing as a lotto ticket with a 1 in 2 chance of hitting (this is an example, don’t take these odds literally). The point was he is no more of a lotto ticket than the 31yr old receiver coming off a major knee injury, and in my opinion he is better odds with a higher potential “jackpot”. Saying one player is an “lotto ticket” while another isn’t is just not sound logic. You have no idea who will break out, regress, get injured, etc. There are safer bets than others, that’s all. I don’t think Diggs is a safe bet and even if he was, weighing him over all of the Panthers WRs plus 2 1k rushers is just dumb. You can disagree if you want. The list is stupid.
