Kenny Vaccaro visiting tomorrow

I don't give a flying **** if you find me credible. 80% of this board finds him overrated because they can see with their own eyes that Vaccaro can't tackle a RB or WR to save his life (which is precisely why he was essentially used as a LB) in the open field. They also watched him get burned by freshmen and no-names while playing centerfielder.

If you bothered to watch the tape, it should be crystal clear to you.

Actually what is crystal clear to me is that you are a pompous wind bag who doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. I also know enough to know that I am not trained to analyze tape and that without knowing what was called or what a player is supposed to do you don't know if they did what they are supposed to do. For example without knowing what route the receiver was supposed to run based on the defensive coverage or audibles called, how do you even know if his route was run correctly. You only see what happened not what was supposed to happen. They are very different.

I don't try to be an expert here, i listen to those who I consider to be, like Gil Brandt for example. Too bad that point totally escapes you. The thing that you hope everyone doesn't know, which is you don't have a clue, if unfortunately evident to everyone else.

You mean the same scouts and experts that predicted that Troy Williamson would be the next Chris Carter? Save it. Believe whatever the hell you want, I don't care. Vaccaro is overrated and if you chose to take analysts who play favorites all day that seriously then good for you but don't pretend to have a football IQ just because you listen to Mel Kiper Jr's breakdowns.

I don't think he ever did that. Actually 55 said in his post he's not a football scout that's why he listen to their opinion.

You're the one sitting acting like you get paid for your football knowledge.

What team or what sports information company pays you?

What credentials do you have that says your better then Brandt, Mayock, Mcshay, Kiper, Rang, Brooks, Silva, even Nawrocki?

You mean the flaws that posters here can plainly see from the tape? That doesn't require a doctorate or a job title. Any idiot can play scouting expert. I'll take it a step further, any individual with functional vision can see a player's shortcomings.

I don't care about draft analysts. I don't trust them. I rely on what I see not on what I read.

WTF is wrong with you??

Then why aren't you doing it now??? I willing to bet these guys make triple what you do in your day to day job. There is no reason you would rather sit here posting on a MB or doing what you do at a 9-5. If you could be working for a team or getting paid to express your opinion on TV.

This isn't Subway where you can maybe make a sub like the guy behind the counter. These guy get paid and do this 24/7 365 days out of the year. They have contacts with teams and coaches that you don't even know. They watch tape that us MB GM can't get our hands on. They are up close and personal watching these prospects workout. They have way more excess to make a informed Judgement.

I'm good at math but I don't claim to be a accountant. Is the point I'm trying to get thru to you,

Now I'm not attacking you because we've agreed on many subjects (not this Vaccaro thing) and you have some good knowledge on the subject but please don't be the asshole. Posting on a MB claiming you can do a better job then the guys who actually make a "very good" living off of the work they do.

Just stop this insane power trip you're on right now.

Funny how all the Allen jock huggers used Mayock as their source for why he will be great, and all the Vaccaro haters ignore that Mayock lists him the best safety in college and not a peep.

Me I trust the Panthers to pick the best guy for our team since they know what kind of player we need to run our schemes. And their record in the first round is rather impressive. I would be fine with a safety in the first actually. We have ignored the position long enough and with all the receivers and tight ends in our division, we need to shore up the secondary. I think that is as big a need as NT right now.......................

I never said I dislike Vaccaro. Ive shown my love for him many times. I like whoever Mayock likes except for Lane Johnson bc I don't see OT as a need. But the kid is exceptional.

How do you know this?

oh man, havnt you heard all the 12 year old Madden experts explaining how were going to take a WR at 14? Cleary were going to draft a punt returner at 14, lmao.

Duuuuuuuuude PUNT RETURNER!

Watch. . . explain it to them logically and they will start another thread tomorrow saying the same thing until they get someone who agrees with them. "Hey youre smart!" "hey you are too! YAY!"

    • Then don't tune in. It's really not a hard concept to understand, if your making your decision based on your own personal needs/feelings as opposed to what is best for the future of the franchise, then it's a you problem, not a Panthers problem. When the season is already lost, every fan should be rooting for the same thing.  The team plays hard until the final whistle of the season and keeps improving as a team and individually, but in the end, we still come up short and lose games, and preferably because the other team beat us, not because we screwed up and found a way to lose due to our own fault. Look at it this way... If we are up 1 or 2 points with 3 seconds left in the game and the other team is lining up for a FG.  Beyond the joy of victory or the disappointment of defeat, what impact does the other team making or missing the FG have on our team the following season? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING Except where we draft and what teams we play due to our finish in the division. The players and coaches on the team would have the exact same level of improvement and learnings about themselves individually and as a team whether the FG is made or missed.  The ONLY difference in the end is the record in the standings and if the win or loss number changes. If you want to argue if making the playoffs to lose in the first round or just missing them is better or worse, that's totally fair and I can at least understand the other side of it.  But in what is already a lost season, if you're not hoping your team plays well but ends up losing, then you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.  You're hoping for a moment of happiness at the detriment of the franchise's future, and in turn, you're basically then happy for a moment to only set yourself up for future further disappointment.
    • If we’re eliminated I want the wins more.   The season is already a disappointment and if I’m not pulling for wins why bother to tune in?
    • Two things terribly wrong with this post. First is that not one time has myself or anyone else agreeing with me said that the team themselves should think that way or try and lose for positioning.  Never once have I suggested the team should purposefully lose games, ever.  I honestly can't understand why people keep saying this in posts, not one fan has ever said the players should or would purposefully try to lose. And second, is yes, that has happened and it's happened very recently.  The 2020 Bengals were 4-11-1 and then were playing in the SB the very next season.   And while it might have been 2 years later and they didn't quite get to the SB, the 2021 Lions were 3-13-1 and then the 2023 Lions were up 24-7 at halftime of the NFC Championship game. The season between those two? They finished 9-8 and only just missed the playoffs. Which is why I keep trying to compare us to the Lions in where we are at in our re-build.  Throw out Bryce's rookie year with the Reich staff who just didn't work out and he looked god awful.   This past season when we were 5-12 in Canales' 1st season is that 2021 season for the Lions and their 1st season under Campbell.  This year is their 2022 where they grew a ton and Campbell's culture building was clear, where I'm saying we'd likely be better off in the long run if we go 8-9 or 9-8 and just miss out on the playoffs (which is still a significant improvement from last year).  Then our 2026 is their 2024 when we have a chance to be a real contender after adding a few more pieces and our key players having another year of experience under their belts.
