Beason talks with disgruntled Peppers

mostly just the old stuff but i hope he shows up at the start of TC

So despite publicly declaring he wants to play elsewhere, his refusal so far to sign a one-year, guaranteed tender worth $16.7 million and his failure to attend one offseason workout, Peppers will show up for the start of training camp on Aug. 2?

Beason indicated Peppers hadn't committed to that.

"I'm hoping it's the first day," Beason said. "When I talked to him I said, 'Hey, if you come in, at least come in on the first day. Don't be like me.'

i truly think the reason Pep hasnt been at OTAs and minicamp is because he doesnt want to deal with the press and the barrage of questions he will get thrown his way constantly..

for awhile, he held off the idiotic questions last year, like "hey, you think you can do better than 2.5 sacks this year Pep?"

but this year will be different.. i think it would be smart, like someone else said, to hold a press conference before camp or 1st week, and just get it all out there and answer as many Q's as he can.. they will still ask him throughout the camp and season, but the bulk will be dealt with in 1 day..

pep can be the robin to beastman.hell here he will get paid big money, and with the way beason is going he will be that leader on D this team been needing since ruck and minter retired. so pep gets his money without being that leader rich asked him to be.

if pep ever shows up which i think he will come TC and he get's into Meeks defensive scheme he'll never want to leave carolina cuz Meeks is great with using the front 4 to preasure the QB and use the LB'S and DB'S to swarm the ball carrier

and with brown on the opposite side of pep other teams will have fun tryin to stop both of them...and that will take some preasure off of pep

peppers there or not..we still need somebody in the DT postion to get some pressure...i saw last year that a lot of times our DE were in the backfield but the DT were geting no push.

true but the DT's we got right now r run stoppers Lewis is the only 1 that can put preasure on the QB...but not enough we'll have to wait till next year to either draft a pass rushing DT or get one in free agency

I could see Brayton sliding in on passing downs with Lewis.....definitely would improve the pass rush.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
