Person suggests that nickel and safety might already be covered

We don't know if Gettleman will retain the same philosophy, but it seems to me that the Giants focus on the line on the defensive side of the balk and on the skill positions on the offensive side of the ball. On paper, it makes sense. A dominant DL makes all levels of your defense better. Building a dominant DL with our LB corps would certainly make things easier on our secondary. On the other side of the ball, elite skill position players make things easier on your OL. If you can keep the D guessing you make them hesitate and don't necessarily need a dominant OL. The Giants have gotten two rings with that philosophy.

If Gettleman retains it, I expect us to go WR/DT or DT/WR with our 1st and 2cd round picks. Then I'd expect to see a mid-round OL and safety added.

I know I feel waaay better about our secondary going into this season, than last. And that's without Gamble. I think all the competition will bring out everyones 'A' game.

Too bad our DB's "A" game is significantly worse than other people's "A" games.

bad idea, look at Coryell, he had the best offense of all times but couldn't win a ring because he didn't have a defense, if he had a mid ranked defense he would've won multiple rings. Good offense and no defense means the other team will score just as much.

It's a different era now. It's a passing league and we already have a mid level defense that will probably be even better then last year. You win. Throwing the ball. Add weapons for cam and this team wins more games then adding a fat ass for the d line
