San Francisco 49′Ers Reportedly In Trade Talks With Carolina Panthers

At best it is an educated guess at this point. Yes it makes sense for SF to trade up given they expect to be in the superbowl next year coupled with the fact they have more picks than roster spots and yes we are picking in a place that would allow them to pick up a safety but I imagine they are having the same discussion with several teams.

I think Star will fall because of all the hype the other players are getting. If we trade back with San Fran, along with their 31st pick, they better give us two seconds as well. Trading back to the 31st spot is not worth it otherwise.

Star wont fall to 14, he's too good. He could go to Oakland/Philly/Arizona/NYJ/Tenn/San Diego/NYJ and that doesn't even factor in teams trading up. Also how is it not worth it to get three quality players of equal talent level instead of two. I love Cyprien, but Swearinger is just as good. Not to mention more versatile....

Of course I think if the 49ers were thinking about trading up to our spot, we have the advantage in waiting until our pick come draft day, to see who falls. If Star doesn't fall, then I would be okay with trading back, and just picking up an extra 2nd rounder.

We would probably get a fifth or later as a throw in as well, but with as many holes as we have three picks in the top 50>>>two picks in the top 50 with the parity of this Draft class past the top 7-10 picks....

Lol, are you saying Vaccoro, Hopkins, Austin, Richardson etc will be there at 31?!?

No but Hopkins/Allen and possibly Cyprien could be. Either way, you can still get damn good players at 31 and 34 if your scouts do their jobs correctly....

Gettleman won't do it unless the 9ers are willing to overpay. He said it himself at his press conference, would you rather have a dollar or 3 dimes? You might get #31, #34 and a 3rd rounder from the deal, but are any of those players going to be as good as the guy you'd get at #14?
