How would you feel about Tyler Eifert?

I wouldn't be thrilled with this pick but could certainly warm up to the idea or thought of us taking him. It all comes down to who is on the board when we make our selection.

Outside of Austin, I think Eifert would be the best offensive weapon we could add at 14. He is a massive target with incredible hands and would be great to pair with Olsen in the red zone. Olsen and Eifert on the field at the same time with 89 and Lafell on the outside would create massive mismatches. A nickel corner or LBer aren't going to be able to shut them down and I think brining a safety to cover them would leave them to get beat deep.

Interesting pick that could certainly happen. I'm not ruling anything out now.

with the 14th pick? uh no. hurney is no longer with the carolina panthers

McShay mocked him in the top ten to Cleveland...

Now McShay is by no means 100% accurate all the time but if teams above us are considering Eifert why shouldn't we if he is there? And if you want to say something like Cleveland sucks that is fine but I don't think it is a bad idea to look at the guy.

I don't think anyone would be complaining when Eifert turned into a Gronk-type weapon for this offense. Eifert + Olsen would be just if not more deadly than Hernandez and Gronkowski. Throw in 89 with our running game + Cam Newton and thats a damn good offense with plenty of weapons and firepower and could present mismatches all over the field.

I certainly would be complaining when we lose to the worst team in the league again because they're gashing our DTs up the middle or Brady Quinn is eating our secondary alive.

His worth to the team would be based on if the Panther's plan to run more two Te sets this season. (which I think they will be with Shula running the offense).

If they plan to use two TE's a lot like they did in 2011, then I think TE does become a need. Not a major need, but it would become one for sure.

I really feel like one of these reporters looked on the huddle and started this rumor...I merely brought it up as a suggestion bc I feel like he would be the BPA ala Kuechly last year. Somehow the idea of this has really taken off today. It's kinda crazy but I like it.
