This draft was not really that successful TO ME IMHO. Hurney has had just as good drafts if he didn't make those dum ass trades. I'm glad Hurney is gone, but Gettleman didn't do much better he just didn't trade any picks (which is the only good thing). I gave this class a C. The only picks I'm ready to see play is Kenjon Barner and Star!!! Besides that Kwan Short, I guess, but I'm really mad at that pick right now lol. Other than that we didn't really improve this team anymore than we already have on the roster.

What I don't get though is why we brought all these receivers in and didn't pick not one receiver?!?!?!? It wasn't because of smokescreens he practically hung up any trade offers, so what was the reason???

rotoworld has faith in the kug...

Panthers selected Valdosta State OG Edmund Kugbila with the No. 108 overall pick.

Kugbila (6-foot-4 1/8, 317) made 32 career starts for the D-II Blazers, primarily at guard. He was a second-team All-D2 pick as a senior. Kugbila measured in with 34 7/8-inch arms at the Combine before running a 5.31 forty and performing 23 reps on the bench. Panthers rookie GM Dave Gettleman has attacked both lines in the draft, which is logical because Carolina desperately needed help in the trenches. Kugbila could compete for snaps right away at right guard.

ill book mark this thread for you guys when he is starting next season.

the ONLY reason this guy wasnt in the D1 was due to SAT score.

he has the talent and measurables you look for @ OG.

Exactly.

He was highly recruited by several SEC teams.

Star - A+ (OMG!)

Short - B+ (there were bigger needs after the Star pick, but Dwan is 33)

Klein - B- (little immediate need, but good player and we all know about our injury issues at LB)

Kugbila - D (position of need, but a head scratching pick)

Barner - C+ (good value pick, but zero immediate need)

Seems like a good kid.

And quite a bit smarter than the guys trying to interview him.

Yep, what's good is he's football smart. If he works hard in the weight room and evens his body out, he might start this year. It's more likely that he's a season away from that baring injury though.

Also I hate listening to those damn audio links, but it's the best we've got for right now.
