Charles Woodson

I doubt woodson comes here we have no desire to be in win now mode and are trying to build toward the future he won't want to play with a bunch of scrubs that are just gonna make him look bad

People aren't exactly beating Woodson's door down, and the market determined that. It would be like a slightly more expensive Drayton Florence deal, only with a guarantee of much more production coming from the player.

How is this a funny thread? Aren't most people unhappy with the draft feeling that way b/c we didn't address the secondary (and/or WR)? Would Charles Woodson not instantly come here and start?

Hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaa! Fuging hilarious!!!

dude we had 4 opportunities to draft a quality "fresh DB" and it seems the Secondary is not of interest. Indeed I would love a proven vet but with the combo of Gettle/RR I doubt they are gonna spend much more money if any. We have some major bills due in the next few years.

I'm disappointed that we didn't address the secondary but I'm withholding judgment until we see these guys on the field. Only pick I'm close to writing off before so is the 4th rounder.

Other than that, I'm approaching this as though Gettleman felt we needed to fix the 'unsexy' areas of the team, as I termed them earlier - the lines, the lunch pale guys, etc. and by doing so, I think he feels the playmakers already on the team will be able to step up and do more OR we will add some more vets post-draft to take on significant roles in those positions.

I'm guessing he viewed the team as a house. You can have an absolutely beautiful home on the exterior, but if there is a foundational issue, the home won't continue to stand. He fixed the foundation in this draft and I'm hoping he uses guys like Gettis on offense, adds quality FAs for the right price, and drafts more playmakers in the years to come to develop on both sides of the ball, now that the foundation is strong.

agreed. I truly was expecting a DB or WR at least somewhere in the mix. Nevertheless, I assume this picks should not come as a surprise because the area the huddle wanted were already taken care of through free agency thus far according the the bosses. I think the next big issue for us is taking out the trash. We may as well take the trash out now instead of waiting until next year. I can slice two WRs, jimmy, Fua, and possibly make a feature trade or two.

Gettleman will all a sudden become GOD again

It's just funny that i predicted months ago that most of these people would hate Gettleman after today. The D needed to be addressed instead of having to outscore in the late part of the game, maybe we can hold an opponent to under 30.

    • I honestly feel bad for Willis. I mean, good that he got a decent (NFL QB speaking) payday and will be set for life, but in terms of actually competing and providing he's a legit starter? The Dolphins are gonna carry $175M in dead cap this year and they have an out in Willis' contract after the 2027 season. This seems like the most obvious tank job in history with Willis signed as cover for it.
    • I was scrolling X (Twitter) and I came across this clip....If I shows up here I'd be shocked.  Anyway it was supposed to highlight the blocking ability of Antonio Williams.  All I noticed is how well Blake Miller moved on pulls and in space.  I'm thinking it should be Miller Time in Carolina. I think with half a season of coaching that either Miller or Iheanachor could end up at LT, specifically Iheanachor with his footwork and those super long arms.  He's raw, but that could be a good thing with those natural athletic gifts.   https://x.com/NFL_DF/status/2033992963659796861?s=20
    • I am using Kelce more as an example of what people think you get with a 1st round TE.    3 f the top 4 yardage guys of all time are 1st rounders. I think. But realize these would be the guys with super long careers, and/or top QBs throwing to them. We don’t have a top QB.    And there have been Plenty of first round disappointments too. More of them than the all time leaders for sure.    We were treating Bryce as the ultimate ‘don’t fug it up’ game manager in order to get a few of those 8 wins. And to stay close in some losses.   1st round picks, starting in 2023 that have been used on a WR or on the QB? 2023 1 (qb) 2024 2 (1 & 32) (qb, wr) 2025 1 (wr) When does it stop?
