Draft Philosophy

The big guys allow you to play.

You can't run a proper offense if Cam is staring at the sky or RB's are hit as soon as they touch the ball. Same with the D, does not matter how fast the LB's are if they have a 330 lb G attached to their chest.

I am good with it too. I was joking a little about it seeming like a Hurney draft just because he took the D2 lineman and a running back but I couldn't be happier with the first two picks and I understand the others. We will see if he is right about our secondary and then maybe next year he could build the offensive line from the draft

Kugbila is coming in to play. Think about some of the guys we started on our line last year...He has more talent than most of them. Kalil was out, Bell missed a couple, and Hangartner missed some games. Just go back and look at some of our games. We played a ton of players last year that don't belong in the NFL. We kept a pretty healthy set of skill players on offense.

If you're one of those people who believes games are won and lost in the tranches and you build the foundations (OL / DL ) to win, then you should be pretty happy.

If you're a skill position guy, then not so much.

So your basically asking who knows football and who does not.

I think the nice thing is there is a transparent philosophy.

Gettleman is going all in on his Hog-Molly and he is honest about it. I'm buying in.

Unless we start losing again then I will bitch.

See I'm transparent too.

    • I’m on board for one more year of Bryce. Also wouldn’t hate taking a mid rounder QB next year. We need another solid draft to keep building our team out then get a plug and play guy. None of the guys listed would make us a contender and the asking price for most the others would be too high.
    • You right the money does cause an issue but right now you build around the QB and keep drafting at the QB position as you said to find that rookie that can elevate your team. And play with the game manager for now. I still believe had we just stuck with cam, Sam or Baker and just rode out one of them while rebuilding the roster by the time we decided to draft our guy we would be set. Be the previous FO and staff was trash. And blew money left and right on guys that didn’t work out in the draft and in free agency. Letting good guys walk and keeping duds. The current path seems good. Keep plugging holes while Bryce is still on his rookie contract bring in a good back up to press him and when the opportunity arise go and get the game changer. but who knows how they’ll pay these guys. We have to pay icky, we can get out of the Chuba contract after year one I’ve read can’t confirm tho. But the money can be shuffled and we still are in the positive in cap space too. So a lot to be hopeful for
