Post-Draft Depth Chart (Joe Person)

Joe Person released his post draft depth chart assumption. What are your thoughts on this? I think it is relatively correct.

"With the draft done, we thought we'd take our first crack at the Carolina Panthers' two-deep.

The team won't release its official version until around the start of training camp, and it won't look exactly like this. For instance, second-year cornerback Josh Norman likely will still be behind Josh Thomas, as he was at the end of last season. But from the way Dave Gettleman talked about Norman, it's pretty clear the Panthers eventually expect Norman to be the guy there.

Also, the Panthers need another pass-catching tight end to complement Greg Olsen. They strongly considered Notre Dame's Tyler Eifert before taking DT Star Lotulelei with the 14th pick Thursday."

I think the most interesting information is the tid-bit about the Panthers possibly taking Tyler Eifert! I know a lot of the people on this board were very pro Eifert.

Makes me wonder if we still plan to address this area via Free Agency and who is still available. Off the top of my head, I think Kellen Winslow II, though who wants that car wreck. Todd Heap, Shockey, VIsanthe Shiancoe, David Thomas, even our old Donte Rosario (lol), Randy McMichael......

I don't know who the top FA left at TE or who will be released during preseason. I bet we address it before opening week though

Yea, I'd normally say the same thing, chknwing (re: your first post), but that one looks pretty good to me. I expect Kugbila to get a fair amount of playing time and might even be starting by mid season, going off Gettleman's comments in his pressers about the best way to teach the guys is to put them in with the 1s. I expect Thomas to start over Norman, but that was addressed below the depth chart. I also would be surprised to see Brockel not get a jersey and just roll with Tolbert as our only FB to get someone else in a jersey. Another WR or something. Also Stewart will technically be the starting RB.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
