With Thomas Keiser cut, this now becomes an issue, especially with the staff's new focus on D-Linemen rotation. Of course, this is assuming that Johnson, Hardy and Alexander are locks for three of the roster spots, which is a pretty safe assumption.

So who do you think it will be? Do we have some yet to be developed talent on our roster, or are we going to have to pick up a free agent? If we go FA, are we looking for a gem on someone else's roster who gets cut due to depth, like Dwan last year, or a vet we can pick up for the minimum who can guide a still young Hardy and Alexander?

What say you?

Just did a little research on Wes Horton...

He was the 40th ranked player in the nation (rivals), but was only recruited by Pac 12 schools (then Pac 10).

He started as a redshirt freshman and played well, but got injured his sophomore season and never really got his entire game back together.

All together, he has good height and decent speed. He doesn't get off the line particularly fast but shed's blockers quite well due to his good hands.

I checked Horton's career stats and had 117 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and 18 tackles for a loss (not too shabby).

NFL.com compared him to Austen Lane...

    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
    • I trust Morgan when it comes to LBs so I think Wallace will do well.
