Cam Newton - Marketing Image

Recommended Posts

I tend to disagree with that article (on some respects)... Newton is already doing great on the endorsement front (UnderArmour, Gatorade, Footlocker, Belk, GQ, Windows Phone, SportsCenter, NFL Commercials)

If I'm not mistaken that UA deal was a record deal being that he received the largest contract ever for an incoming rookie (to work with UA).

That being said, he can still do more by simply getting the Panthers to the playoffs (that is where I agree with the article).

I took the article literally, as asking if can Cam cash in as a pitchman?

Well in my opinion, he already has, see my first post.

Next to Matthews and Cruz; Newton appears on more current commercials than any NFL player I know.

Obviously commercials aren't the only form of endorsements, but they probably bring in the most money next to shoe contracts.

I still believe Cam can do more in the marketing realm, but he's not doing bad by any stretch.

On the contrary, I will purchase nothing Griffin the third endorses because Redskin fans are idiots.

Well, Bob G3 is tied to Adidas right now, whom ironically could be called the ACL killers lol Bob tore his and so did Derrick Rose. not sure that is a product I would buy anyway

“He’s playing in Carolina," Shabelman said. "If they’re undefeated and they’re 12-0 going into the last five weeks of the season, that’s great, but they’re still in Carolina, and that’s not a major market. Sometimes people even forget there’s a team there.”

Ouch...that was a tough one to swallow

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
