Quarterback Stats in Wins and Losses

Found this on reddit and thought it was pretty interesting, it really highlights how mistake free Cam has to be (which we already knew) compared to a lot of other QBs in order to notch a win.  Over two years he only averages a 0.58 INT% (the lowest in the league other than limited sample size of Jake Locker) in wins and a pretty high INT % in losses, due to us losing pretty much every game he's ever thrown a single pick in.  Anyways without further adieu, here's the list...

Gotta feel a little bad for Sanchez. Not too long ago he was in AFCCG's and organizing Camp Sanchez out in Cali with his receivers during the Summer. Now the dude is getting tossed under the bus at every stop. I'm sure Touchdown Jesus made life easier for him last year.

Regarding Cam, all these stats come back to coaching IMO. Our inability to hold a lead or recover from a turnover is pathetic.

I think a lot of the reason we lose when Cam throws an int is a function of the defense. The inability to get three and out after a turnover, basically they can't stop an offense with a short field to drive. With the additions on the line this year, and assuredly in years to come, Cam will be helped indirectly with the team having a better ability to overcome turnovers as a result of better D-line play. As long as the secondary can produce average play, we will see marked defensive improvement.

Also in 2012, the defense allowed the opposition too much TOP before they allowed them to score.

 

They would almost been better off, letting the opposition score quicker, giving Cam and the offense more possessions/opportunities. "Bend, But Don't Break", can be time consuming. Lol

 

The Panther D, also made virtually no big plays (turnovers, mind you the big stops you mentioned) late games, and certainly not after Cam turnovers late in games. This is what cemented Cam's losses following turnovers, or even after he took leads late in games or 4th quarters.

Spot on. The lack of " game changing" plays was sorely lacking from this defense. I think this year will (hopefully) provide more playmaking ability on the defense. By doing so Cam will not be forced to be as conservative, in that a turn over will not be a killing blow for the team.
