Delhomme versus Plummer..who is more snake-like?

Plummers stats 29253 yards passing, 161 TDs, 161 Ints- passer rating 74.5

Delhommes stats: 20974 yards  passing, 126 TDs, 103 INTs, passer rating 81.3

Jake Plummer got his nickname as a tribute to Jake the Snake Roberts, a professional wrestler.  Roberts took the name as a tribute to his favorite player, Ken the snake Stabler.

Exactly my point, mon frére. All used the snake nickname (excpept Delhomme because it was already currently being used.) without displaying any snake-esque traits. So if a tall, thin, elusive QB with a forked tongue, named Jake ever emerges in the future, he will not be able to use "the Snake" nickname, because it has been wasted in a haphazard manner.

How in the fugg do you get a nickname as a tribute to someone else's nickname anyways? How does that work? I have no more questions, your honor.

Jake Delhomme should never be called Jake the Snake. I still remember Chris Collinsworth saying 'Jake the Snake' during the Tampa Game in 2003. And IIRC, Chris already used it for Jake Plummer years earlier.

I'm going to rewatch that game this week. hmmmmmmm

    • Nfl leaders don't look at the population of just the city itself.  Charlotte has three of the top fifty combined statistical areas within a 1 to 1.5 hour drive.  Charlotte, Greensboro/WS/High Point, and Greenville Spartanburg.  Those three statistical areas include nearly 7 million people.  Other than Raleigh, the only one in the top fifty within an hour and half of raleigh is Greensboro.  So only about 4-5 million people.  Charlotte has many more people to draw from.   Also, many of the surrounding communities for Raleigh are not native born.  If memory serves, many still refer to Cary as Containment area for relocated Yankees.  One of the reasons the Canes do so well is a significant portion of the population are people who moved from Northern Areas.  Would that population translate into support for a NFL team?  Hard to say, but I see a tremendous amount of Giants/Jets jerseys in the triangle when I forced to endure the crazy traffic on 40/85.
    • This will also be prime Training Camp meltdown time on here lol. Preseason game 1 August 8th, i'm guessing camp starts around July 25-27th
