7-29 Camp Thread

Recommended Posts

Here is what happened to me and my family. I took my son, nephew and a couple of cousins down to training camp. I get Cam to sign my poster and I thought we were done but boy was I wrong. I had everyone in the truck and we were leaving and then I look over to my left while sitting at the stop sign leaving the parking lot and Greg Hardy is just standing there. I roll down my window and asked if he would mind signing my poster and the next thing I knew all the players started coming down stairs. I just left my truck sitting at the stop sign and the fun began. Enjoy!

Cool Pics

Man some of those dudes are freaking huge.  Amazing how big they really are.

Well thought out post my friend.

Being overseas these tweets and comments are all I get.  It is painfully obvious our OL is not preforming as I had hoped.

The question is do you grab a guy like Moore or wait for a player that didn't make someone elses squad.  Seems the latter would be going from the frying pan into the fire.

Let's see what Gettleman does.  He hasn't let us down so far.

And by overseas, do you mean military?

I'll be at that game ... bulletproof vest and all.

*btw - I'm coming from LA, you in the Bay area? Any tips on pregaming/tailgating/bars afterwards, etc?

Never been there but im flying out from AZ sat morning for the Game if you would like someone else in your posse or just someone to pregame with and hit the bars to stir up trouble with after :) stoked to see a game at Candlestick in its last year!

Thanks I do appreciate it.

I don't think some people realize what the Huddle means to guys like me.  Especially if you are a Panther Junkie.  Tweets and Observations are better than ESPN and other rags.

There is no doubt about that.  I was in a non-US area in most of 1995 but was able to attend some games only because of logistic coincidences.

I would have gave my left arm for the internet or the Huddle back then.

You gotta learn to glean the info out of here.

Safety to you and yours, 208.

Well spending time in Iraq and Afghanistan makes being in Kuwait a piece of cake.

They have Malls and women here. :thumbsu:  No alcohol though.  I have a nice studio apartment and I have vehicle I can use when I want.   Still gotta keep aware of your surroundings but not nearly as much as Iraq or Afgh.

And the internet here is far more reliable and less expensive.  Afghanistan I paid 100 USD per month for a service that barely got me good Skype capabilities.

AE found a cure for cancer

AE brokered peace in the Middle East

AE designed a car that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds, but gets 72 miles per gallon - using rain water as fuel.

AE makes an unbelievable catch in practice . . .

AE - looks like this will be his year. . .

Take away his 82 yard reception and he is averaging 1.3 catches per year for an average of 1.1 yards per game.

If he doesn't make it, someone should be able to make up the forty inches or so of slack on game day.

Having said that, I have no idea how we'll make up for the total 36 yards of punt returns he had in his 35 games or the pass he has completed once every 17 games.

At least we won't have to replace his scoring - he has the same number of TD's that I do.

Sorry for the rant - just don't get the fixation people have.

Sure he made that car..but he got an 82 yrd catch with no TD?! Holy pooh!!! Amazing!!

How often do you visit Bharain?  Allah cannot see Bharain according to the locals.  LOL.  Hate to say it but that is one fuked up corner of the world.  They pay well, but their moral compass goes round and round like a tilt a whirl.

Good for you Dave.  Make that money and come on home when you have had enough.

KEEP POUNDING VETS!!!

Went through Bahrain a couple years ago on my way to Thailand or the Philippines.  Before that was 2003 when I flew off the USS Nassau to come home to retire.

All these Middle Eastern Countries are two faced.  Blah Blah Blah about the west and how evil and ungodly we are. Yet they try to be western as we are. Yet,they promote sex in there advertisements (Good looking women, men buff) Typical Sex sells advertising but call the westerns ungodly.  No Alcohol, Speeding and other rules apply to everyone but the locals.  Yet the locals are the ones who break those rules religously.  There is a reason why Kuwait has the most traffic accidents (per Capita) in the world.  And I can go on and on. But I'll drop it since it is a Panther forum.

I hear you though.

Thanks

It is a shame that there isn't one single member of our local media that knows enough about the game to make any interesting observations or judgement. Gantt used to try, but he had no clue what he was saying either.

Why don't they pay a former player or coach for a few weeks so we could learn a thing or two from these camp twits.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
