Pat Yas on Panthers TC, thus far. (Do read!)

Gantt just about shows his stripes regarding the Panthers every time he mentions the organization (and, yes, that is purposeful exaggeration on my part). There is a kind of condescending undertone to his sentiment when it comes to the Panthers. I don't like it, and I don't respect it.

thats more of a recent thing with him, but I would be pissed too if I got black balld by the team and practically lost my job because of it.

I think his assessment is damn accurate:

1.  WR corp is better than most think

2.  DB's are a scrappy group with some vet leadership

3.  OL is not up to par and they are likely to add someone (I say either Moore or Wharton is signed)

4.  Barner is a weapon that you MUST get on the field

Yea I never understood the hate on Yas, I've always enjoyed reading his articles, even on the other teams in our division. He reports it as he sees it.

He recently made a list of top 25 players in the NFCS; Bowers made the list, Hardy did not...I find it difficult to believe such an opinion is unbiased and objective. Either he is dumb, biased, or just trying to stir up controversy. He has been known for his fair share of sensationalistic reporting.

He is actually the main reason I don't read the NFCS blog on ESPN. Much of his "reporting" is just linking to other sites' articles and when he does form an opinion it rarely seems informed, accurate, or unbiased. He really is one of the poorest and least active bloggers I've seen.

Reminds me of Person: always on vacation.

I liked Gantt all the way up until he was fired from the beat. Ever since then he has become a guy who rarely has anything positive to say about Charlotte sports teams.

Well he has to fit in with Florio who rarely gives anything positive toward the Panthers. Maybe to impress the boss?

I was watching NBC sports Pro Football Talk and they were discussing the read option offenses and who runs it the best.

Florio and another guy said easily it is Colin Kaepernick but Eric Cassilus(sp?) said he would take Cam Newton bc he has proven to be the better passer and is durable unlike RG3...and Kaepernick has yet to play a full season with defenses keying on him.

Florio replied with yeah Id put Cam top 3 but Kaepernick is faster.

Eric countered with ill take the guy(Cam) who has done it for 2seasons and dominated at it.

On the flip side....

Since Gantt has been on the website there are a ton of Panther articles....if Gantt's opinion is slightly negative toward the Panthers( it may be the objective opinion) bc the team has not won and has been mismanaged for a while. You decide.

i don't know what it was exactly but apparently he said something in a article that JR didnt like and black listed him, I don't know what it was that caused it but if the owner of a team caused me to lose my dream job, I would be very bitter towards them too, it's only human nature

Was it when he was calling him out about being "cheap" before the lockout?

I can't really remember either.

Gantt said publicly that he didn't care whether the Panthers win or lose. I remember that because I posted it Perhaps someone pointed it out to J-Rich (LOL). In any event, Gantt is where he needs to be. He should be happy. He probably got a little bump up the food chain. He just needs to keep the Panthers out of his mouth as far as I'm concerned.  I'll take guys like Yas any day of the week.
