Nice Idea from r/panthers regarding Cams Towel...

Idea:

I think it would be pretty damn awesome if we (as a fan base) would own up to Cam wearing a towel on his head. Make it something of our own. I would ask those of you who commonly attend games to start wearing towels on your own head during gameday. Something to show Cam that the fans support him and don't buy into this media nonsense. If I were able to attend games, I would have been doing this along time ago. Imagine how much confidence it could give him and our team, absolutely knowing that the fan base is behind them 100%. It could turn into a pretty cool tradition for us fans as well, something I feel we may lack.

valid criticism:

i like the idea. but you know if we're ever losing big the networks will start showing all the fans with towels on their heads looking sad, further enforcing their stupid narrative

I personally like the idea, and would gladly participate... That said i could definitely see ESPN latching on if Cam has a bad/pouty year and turning it into a mocking situation. But it definitely be a unique thing around the league and could get morale high if things go right in all facets.

What say you huddle?

if Cam is showing the maturity that everyone says he is...............then the towel should disappear

He got the towel idea from Michael Jordan who just so happens to be the best basketball player ever.

So I would definitely think twice before calling MJ immature, that's essentially what you are implying.

I guess wearing a hat backwards on the sidelines or a visor upside down (like Smitty does) is also immature as well.

I'll tell you what would be immature. Letting critics determine how you behave and look. At the end of the day as long as he is on the sidelines learning from his mistakes and pumping up his teammates, I don't give two sh*ts about what is on his head.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
