Early 53 Man Roster

Flying Lion

Recommended Posts

12. Steve Smith

13. Mushin Muhammed

14. Dwyane Jarrett

15. Ryne Robinson Goodson replaces overrated never achiever

16. Kenneth Moore Jason Carter - will make the team

Analysis: This is pretty much everyone's top 5. Could go 6 deep with J. Carter

Absolutely no way that we just cut Ryne, in the belief that Goodson - a runningback can fill the position and then choose an undrafted player who was below ryne on the depth chart their entire duration on the team.

Why oh why would Moore/Carter make it over Ryne? That really makes no sense. I can understand only taking 4 Wrs and having Goodson as the swing player between the two positions. I can't believe we would only take three proven Wrs, a part time runningback and a player who has never played a down.

Of course strange things happen, but to predict this BEFORE training camp and pre-season is a little far-fetched.

To PREdict is to fortell in advance. Like any forecast, the accuracy this far in advance is probably not good as anything can happen. But we are on the cusp of July and there is nothing much else to talk about.

I agree it is way far fetched, however, I have been unimpressed with Robinson thus far and see much more Goodson, hence the wacky prediction. I see a lot of love for Robinson but very little production. Hope I'm wrong and they make lunch boxes in his image but I really doubt it.

Hilee Taylor is as good as gone..we drafted a better speed rusher in Everette Brown, no need for 2 of them.

But Taylor has home field advantage being that he has been here a year, and went to college in north carolina, and all that. Most people believe that does not matter but it does help in some regard. He will at least make the Practice Squad if not the team.

I haven't seen anyone think that we will keep a second center. The thought of Big Mac running the o-line is a scary one. Does anyone besides me think Gray has a chance of making the squad?

I looked at the other center and it is Keith Gray, all he would do is take up roster space if Ryan Kalil needs a break then put whoever the LS turns out to be in there or the biggest Offensive lineman not playing. If he goes down on injury, then sign a center.

    • We’re in a pickle. My best hope is we protect him and can run the ball vs most Ds and the WRs are healthy so he has every chance to not look like what he looked like in too many games last year.
    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
