I grow less and less fond of this thread

as soon as it was bumped i wasn't a fan. i was just waiting for someone to remind vagrant that he did the same thing he was accusing others of...only he was much more ignorant when he did it himself.

probably should have locked it right away, tho.

oh well....

What it ultimately boils down to is two types of people. Those who are willing to wait and gather information, formulate opinions on what they know, and keep an open mind, and those who get themselves emotionally involved in causes they try to rah rah around.

In this case you were the latter, and it backfired because you tried to attack one of the former. I'd just admit you were wrong, bro. Quit being so prideful.

It's cool if you want to troll me, I get that it's easier that way. It makes it especially ironic that you'd consider ME the one that jumped to any kind of conclusion about anything in this thread considering I didn't even feel moved to comment the first time around. It's just that if you're going to be loud, at least be right. If you're loud and wrong, that's a bad combination. Perhaps when the poor attitude, loose cannon, career backup gets himself in the Pro Bowl discussion towards the end of the season you might be able to come to terms with the fact that you misjudged him if you're even capable of that level of introspective thought. There again, it's not really about what you think. I like to believe this is more of an exercise in teaching people in general that spouting off in ignorance about a player is generally frowned upon and something you will answer for in the event that your malformed opinions are proven unequivocally off the page.

pretty much a lesson you needed to learn and that you were guilty of yourself.

Lol "spouting off in ignorance."

We have already had multiple people comment that they don't feel genuine discussion based on actual, tangible, documented information is anything to critique.

Of course we have had people suggest that not liking a QB because "black quarterbacks never do well" is indeed the epitome of what it means to be ignorant.

oh wait I'm talking about you! what a coincidence!

I have developed a lot personally since that post was made and consider it even by my former standards to be out of character, but even more so now. The difference is my willingness to not defend that ignorance and to own it as such. The end of personal growth and the accumulation of knowledge is the point when you defend your actions vehemently even in the face of overwhelming logic to the contrary. We're getting a crash course in that behavior right here.

thanks, professor.

but don't bump up more old threads to try and teach someone a lesson because it could very well be that you did the same thing you're accusing someone else of. you pointed out a speck in someone's eye while you had a telephone pole sticking out yours.

not sure this thread can accomplish much more. locking it down.

    • Yeah and I am doubtful he can offer that consistently. I don’t have many years left at my age and in my view we have wasted two and this whole exercise with him was always a three year minimum.  I am out on that with a guy I don’t believe in, and never believed in, it has sucked. To me it is a costly detour off the right track. Years.    But I am not so rigid that I can’t see excellence. He needs to display it though, consistently before I change my outlook.
    • No, when I said rage, I meant rage, which only applies to certain fans on this board. Your timeline of trying to assess whether he is the future or not is really tied to the discussions surrounding his second contract. If this team is going to commit to some monster contract while he has shown nothing but glimpses of brilliance would be deservedly worrisome, so the clock is genuinely ticking for him to settle into something resembling his final form. Perhaps a best case scenario is that he plays well, the team succeeds, but he does so with a more limited role that makes the rest of the league view him as a game manager, and his second contract value reflects that. Then he continues to improve and becomes a bargain comparatively while not handicapping the team around him, and we enter an era of consistent championship competitiveness that the fanbase has craved for decades and has never really experienced before. But that requires many, many things to go right and for Bryce himself to facilitate that if he ends up being the quarterback of the future.
    • Exactly. And the flame throwers as well, get location benefits from not going all out. But they have it in reserve.  Not sure how much Greg had but he was an artist.  There was a YouTube I came across last year or maybe even 2023 and I don’t how to even find now but it had two NFL QBs I want say one was Carr from the Raiders but I don’t really remember  The point of it is they stood side by side throwing identical distances to identical targets. Radar gun was used.  They threw the normal effort (not all out) and it was measured etc. Then they were asked to throw their ‘fastball’. They were missing and most often they were missing high. It demonstrated the same principle.    edit: and applying that to arm strength, give me the guy that doesn’t need max effort to have good velocity. The margins are so narrow with less velocity in tne NFL the defenders can Close on it and this is a league where they value down to the 100th of a second level. It is that tight
