Sweet mother of god, Kugbila is practicing today

Our line is in bad shape, regardless, I just want to see if he flashes any talent. I want to know what our FO and scouts saw in the guy. Because the game I saw him play against WSSU he looked like poop.

the thing is he's been trying to get back in. he hasn't been allowed. i've seen several comments from him saying that he's just waiting on the word.

with otah, it was always him and essentially him just not "feeling right" but kugbila has just been chomping at the bit to get back in and active in as much as he was allowed.

glad he's finally getting put back in.

i think it had more to do with the OL doing so piss poorly that they are finally putting him back in rather than the cuts putting a fire under his arse.

i saw a lot after the pick was made to find out what it was and he looked pretty good. he was stronger than anyone and dominated whenever some D-player had the balls to try and take him on. quite often he was left without anyone to block because they avoided him and he had to look for someone to hit/throw around. i think he's quick/mobile enough for the job and definitely as strong as anyone he'd be facing.

he's raw for sure but he's got a solid base to build from. i saw quite a bit of improvement from one season to the next.

as far as being a roadgrader ......wow. if you were running the ball, you wanted to go where he was. i saw him fall to his knees at one point and still make a hole. in pass pro i thought he did well enough.

the thing i saw him really struggle with was against smaller and quicker players who could fake him out fairly easily. that can be coached up, though.

one thing that i also remember seeing was him trying cut blocks. it reminded me of a big fat walrus flopping on the ground. it wasn't particularly effective. he didn't really hit anyone. he just bought the backfield a little bit of time because it took so long for defenders to navigate over/around mt. kugbila.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
