Stitches? *GRAPHIC WARNING*

A week ago today I cut myself pretty bad using a knife to clean off a car part, I was bleeding like crazy, the cut was super deep, probably 3 inches long too. I went to the ER and got it fixed up and cleaned out. The Doctor on call told me it would heal just fine on it's own so I wouldn't need stitches.

So.. 7 days later and the cut is yet to heal or scab, should I go back and get it stitched up?

Stitches or liquid band aid to close it up would help. Bending it would break it open though. I had a few stitches in my knee once and ended up in a leg brace after the busted and had to be redone.

I used liquid band aid and it just made it worse. When I bend my finger it just tears it open even more and something has to be keeping it from healing. I think I'll just take a trip to the hospital in a few hours and get it stitched up.

Use butterfly enclosures, about 4-5 should cover it and keep it cleaned and triple antibiotic ointment. Doesn't look deep enough for stitches, but it's on a highly movable part so that it helping keeping it open. It still will close up, but will leave nasty scar if you don't consciously bend that finger less and use something to help close it.

They do also make flexible band aids for fingers, but the buttterfly enclosures work better because they allow it to dry out and heal.

use medical tap with 2 popsicle sticks to brace the finger and keep it from moving, and lightly bandage, it's not deep enough for stitches, and any movement at all will slow the healing process down

That is pretty much exactly what I'm doing right now, trying my best to get the damn cut to close.
